WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD A booster pump station and approximately 2000 ft. of pipeline needs to be constructed to complete the transition of Glenshire area to be served with water from the District’s water supply. For the District to construct these projects, a CEQA Environmental Review must be completed. The purpose of this matter before the Board is to request an approval of a contract with Sauers Engineering, Inc. to perform the CEQA Environmental Review. 2. HISTORY The Glenshire Area became part of the District’s water service area in 2002. The District plans to serve the Glenshire Area with water from a source outside of the area. As part of the project to convey and provide this source of water, a booster pump station and 2000 feet of pipeline will need to be constructed. All of these project elements were identified at the time that Glenshire Area became part of the District and are included in the Glenshire funding requirement to become part of the District. 3. NEW INFORMATION Staff has identified the areas of construction and has completed plans for these projects. Staff will be bringing plans and specifications to the Board for approval to bid in the near future. 4. RECOMMENDATION That the Board approves the Engineering Services agreement with Sauers Engineering, Inc. for Environmental Review for the Glenshire Booster Pump Station and Pipeline for an amount of $9,000 as defined in the attached proposal dated March 11, 2003.
