Public UtilityI District
Memorandum
To: Board of Directors
From: Peter Holzmeister, General Manager
Date: August 22, 2006
Subject: Nevada County 2006 Multi-Jurisdiction Multi-Hazard Mitigation Program
1. Why this matter is before the Board:
This matter involves adoption of a resolution adopting a document called the "Nevada
County 2006 Multi-Jurisdiction Multi-Hazard Mitigation Program". Only the Board can
adopt such a resolution.
2. History:
Dennis Cassella from Nevada County attended the Board meeting on August 16, 2006
to describe this plan. This document details the kinds of risks we are exposed to in
Nevada County and lists various measures that certain agencies need to take to reduce
damage. By adopting the resolution, we become eligible for funding for mitigation
projects. At the conclusion of workshop the Directors appeared ready to adopt the
resolution adopting the Plan.
3. New information:
Attached for your review is the draft resolution for participation in the "Nevada County
2006 Multi-Jurisdiction Multi-Hazard Mitigation Program". I have not included the entire
document again in this packet. If you wish to refer to the document again and you no
longer have the document sent to you earlier, please let Barbara know and we will get a
copy to you.
4. Recommendation:
That the Board adopt the resolution adopting Nevada County 2006 Multi-Jurisdiction
