History: Our work order billing process has recently been a topic of discussion. A customer complained about receiving bills from the District more than a year after we had performed the associated work. We have conducted a series of workshops to discuss how this problem could be remedied. It was decided that adoption of a flat fee schedule related to certain tasks performed by our electric crew would go a long way toward solving the billing problem. A draft ordinance was reviewed by the Board on August 16 and a public hearing was scheduled for this meeting. District staff met with representatives of CATT to get their input and keep them informed. New information: By this point in the agenda, you will have conducted a public hearing on this proposed ordinance. Based input you receive at the hearing and other information that has been presented to you, you may be ready to adopt the ordinance. Recommendation: I recommend that the Board adopt the Ordinance Establishing an Electric Fee Schedule DistrictPublic Utility s r Ordinance No. 2006 - XX ESTABLISHING AN ELECTRIC FEE SCHEDULE WHEREAS It has been determined that certain electrical costs should be changed to a flat fee rather than billing the actual cost; and WHEREAS, on September 6, 2006, a public hearing was held to receive comments from the public concerning the fee schedule; and NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District as follows: Effective October 16, 2006, the following electric fee schedule shall be effective. If no protest is made pursuant to Public Utilities Code Section 16078,then this ordinance shall be effective on October 16, 2006, after adoption by the board of directors of the District. Section 4. The Clerk of the District shall immediately cause a copy of this ordinance to be published in a newspaper of general circulation and posted in three places within the District. Section 5.
