Subject: Abandonment of Public Utility Easement at 12348 Skislope Way
1. Why this matter is before the board:
Board Authorization is required to abandon an easement.
2. History:
There is an existing public utility easement covering the entire width of the parcel to a depth of
about 50 feet on the single family residential lot at 12348 Skislope Way (APN 44-370-23).
3. New information:
The owner of the parcel has requested abandonment of the rear portion of the easement. The
property owner intends to maintain an easement 60 foot deep from Skislope Way the over the entire
width of the lot.
There are not any existing water system or electric system facilities located within the portion of the
easement to be abandoned. Neither department has an objection to the easement abandonment
reuest.
4. Recommendation:
The Board of Directors adopt a resolution officially abandoning the southern portion of the public
utility easement while maintaining the northernmost 60 feet of the public utility easement.

AUTHORIZING AN ABANDONMENT, AS TO ITS INTEREST,
OF A PORTION OF THE PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT
ON APN 44-370-23
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Palmer, through the Town of Truckee has requested abandonment
of a portion of a public utility easement along the north property line fronting on Skislope
Way;
WHEREAS, District staff has investigated the matter and determined that such
abandonment would not cause the District problems in providing electrical or water service;
WHEREAS,the Town of Truckee has indicated that the northernmost 60-feet of the public
utility easement will remain valid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner
Public Utility District as follows:
That the President of the board be authorized to execute a statement
indicating that the Truckee Donner Public Utility District has no objection to
the abandonment of the above-described public utility easement as shown
on the attached map, which has been entitled Exhibit "A".
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors at a meeting duly called and held
within the District on the sixth day of August, 2006 by the following roll call vote:

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The applicant, Clare Walton is requesting the abandonment of a portion of an existing Public
Utility Easement and Access Easement located at 12348 Skislope Way. The existing easement
varies from 135' to 167' in depth from the northern property line. The proposed abandonment
would maintain the first 60' of the nt abandonmentment and andon the remainder (see map). The

easement to coincide with an existing gas line and additionally act as an access easement for an
adjacent property.
The above-referenced request for an abandonment of a public easement has been submitted for

requested abandonment, complete the comment sheet on the back, and return your comments to
this office by August 23, 2006. Also please feel free to provide any additional comments or
information you may have on the requested abandonment.
