DO PUblic Utility District Memorandum To: Board of Directors From: Alan Harry Date: August 31, 2006 Subject: Purchase of 2006 District Replacement Vehicles Why this matter is before the board It is the policy of the District that bids for purchase of vehicles are presented to the board for action. History During deliberations on the 2006 budget we discussed the need to replace vehicles in the fleet that had reached their useful life. The budget a allocated $62,000 t to be fundeds adopted by he board ted two vehicles for by a loan. Following replacement (exclusive of a bucket truck) and is a list of the vehicles appearing in the budget: One (1) 4x4 Mini Pickup Truck One (1) 1 Jon 4x4 Cab &Chassis Support services staff, with the assistance of the electric superintendent, prepared the necessary vehicle specifications. New Information On August 31 st bids for these vehicles were opened. Bids were received from three of the seven automotive dealers we contacted. Of the three only one, Coalinga Motors met the bid specifications for Bid Schedule A. Coalinga Motors also equals was the low $58,2bidder 43.91 for$3671d Schedule 56.09 Bower Bthan budget) aggregate bid submitted by Coalinga Motorsq Following is a tabulation of the bid by individual vehicle type: $39,792 70 1-Ton 4x4 Cab& Chassis 4x4 Mini Pickup Truck $18,451.21 Recommendation Award the bid as stated above to Coalinga Motors.
