AGENDA #8
PURCHASING AID WAREHOUSING
+ Even during the winter, purchasing continues. Sue has begun to order 1998 budgeted items.
The bid packets for OMR meters have been put together and mailed. Sue was able to
purchase a vehicle through last year's successful low bidder for a comparable service pick-
up. Sue was also involved with the pure g of the new network-cor utgrs and other
related material.
BUILDING AND GROUNDS
+ Carpet bids were opened and the Board awarded the bid to Countryside Carpets of
Truckee. Carpet has been laid in the District's Administration area. Machabee Office
Systems dismantled the walls and work areas and the carpet was cut and glued the first
weekend of February; Machabee then reassembled the walls. The Town of Truckee's
downstairs area was completed last weekend and the rest of the areas will_,be.mrnpleted the
first part of March.
• With all the storms, Support Services continues to clear snow from the walkways prior to the
District opening for business. The Water Crew is doing a good job clearing snow from
around the complex. The employees .appreciate coming to worn and having_the _parking
areas and walkways clear.
+ Replacement of light bulbs and routine maintenance continues.
VEHICLE MAINTENANCE
• It was a busy month with lots of minor repairs and replacement of windshield wipers, turn
signal bulbs, headlights, etc. There were five BIT inspections and service inspections.
• There was one major repair during January. Unit 18, one of the electric line tracks, broke the
steering knuckle while out on a reported outage after hours. It required the service of our
mechanic, a contract mechanic and a welder to repair the truck to get it back into the shop.
Once the parts come in, it should only take a few days to repair.
F
METER READERS
• With all the snow, it has been a busy time for the Meter Readers. Because of the ®MR
meters, there were no estimated routes or books. 1 don't anticipate that any routes or books
will be estimated, but there may still be an odd meter here and there. The snow.has slowed
down the reading time but has yet to put the Meter Readers behind.
• There were 10,356 meters read, 249 service reports completed and 238 49 hour/1013
notices delivered.
