February '98 Activity Report AGENDA # 10 Electric Department crews worked on the following projects during the month of February, The service crew installed 10 new electrical services and responded to 9 requests for underground facility locates (USA's). Crews continued to replace or add additional transformers to transformers that were overloaded because of new construction and growth. Repairs to the 2 Id unit from Tahoe Donner substation continued in Westminster, Ca. The line crew continued changing the Lapp 72 insulators on the system. These have been failing during times of heavy snow. At Northwoods and Northwoods, in Tahoe Donner, crews replaced the jumpers on the comer pole to strengthen the line during times of increased loading. A transformer bank at the Tahoe Donner campground was replaced. A broken cross-arm was replaced at the Mattis dam. Members of the electric department received training on the new computer programs. /attended a meeting of the Electric Superintendents and Supervisors Committee. February was a month of extreme weather for the District. Little routine work was accomplished as we experienced bad weather and heavy snow 11 days out of 20. Crews were kept busy responding to storm related problems. While Donner Lake and Tahoe Donner experienced numerous transmission outages, the rest of the District remained in good shape. t experienced no major problems. h The District
