WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD The Board has requested that the Interim General Manager continue to provide his specialized skills to the District and he has agreed to remain employed on a full time basis through February 8, 2008 and as needed through June 30, 2008. 2. HISTORY The Board began recruitment in August 2007 for it's new General Manager to replace its retiring General Manager. During the recruitment period the Board decided to retain an Interim General Manager and John L. Ulrich was hired into this temporary position. 3. BACKGROUND and NEW INFORMATION The District has received approval, dated January 14, 2008 from CaIPERS to allow for the extension of employment of the Interim General Manager through June 30, 2008. 4. RECOMMENDATION Approve the modification to the present employment agreement, approve the as needed agreement for employment through June 30, 2008 and authorize the Board President to sign_7 agree a on behalf of the Board. In accordance with California law, the District will defend, indemnify and hold you harmless from and against any action, lawsuit, claim, liability, loss, damages or judgment arising from your employment with the D 'rict.
