a) Damage to Prosser Heights Well building
On the evening of October 28, 1993, a vehicle lost control and struck the Prosser Heights
Well building. The two occupants of the vehicle are uninjured. The building needs to be
replaced. The amazing part is that all equipment is still functioning.

Subject : Water Line @ I-80 Freeway & Cemetery
Peter,
While you have been gone I have authorized some work that you need
to know about .
On the west end of the Truckee Cemetery the TDPUD and TSD share a
36" casing running north f south under the freeway. We have a 8 "
water line that ties the Prosser System to the Town. System and
serves Olympic Heights . TSD has a 8 " sewer line that serves
Coachland Trailer Park.
Last week TSD was doing some maintenance work on their line at the
north end of the casing when they found a substantial volume of
water.
The entire casing is full of water . There appears to be a leak in
the line under the freeway, 1 estimate it to be running about 40 -
50 gpm. There is no way of knowing how long it has been running but
it may explain why there has been (as long as I have worked here)
water running in the ditch down the west side of Hwy. 89 from the
freeway to Glenshire Drive.
Monday 10-18 Paul. Rose installed an isolation valve on Sha---Neva
road and we switched Olympic Heights over to the low pressure Town
System. We have had a few complaints, but nothing serious .
I have some original blueprints of the under-crossing. We are in
the process of having them duplicated. I opened a work order for
preliminary engineering by Keith Sauers to explore the logistics of
replacing the line.
Keith Knibb, Mike Connell. and I have net with Brad Stapley of TSD.
TSD is interested in up-sizing their line, as are we . They are
willing to share all of the costs, including engineering in this
joint project .

Sometime during the week of October 25, our crews will open up both
ends of the casing, pump out the remaining water, and ventilate the
easing. Joe Aguera and I will attempt to crawl through the casing
and do an inspection. What we find will certainly influence our
options on how to proceed with this project .
What ever we decide to do it will need to be accomplished this
winter before the spring and summer demand in Olympic Heights
forces us to switch back to high pressure from the Prosser System.
