Approximately 1,200'of8"and 5,780'of6"pipeline from downtown to Olympic Heights is a single dead end configuration. Portions of the distribution system include 4"and 2" pipelines. Dunnglowdemand periods OlympicHeights is on the Northsfde system;during high demand periods, it is on the Prosser system. Afterdiscussing the existing water system in Olympic Heights, the Board directed that staff research and advise as to what the fire flow requirements were when the development was approved Engineer modefing indicates the Olympic Heights system is inadequate to meet Are flow demand Further, it does not meet District standards for dead end pipelines and looped systems. There have been customer complaints regarding pressure, both too lowand too high. The project was identified in the master plan as one which required prompt attention because of the potential lack of fire flow. ft was included in the Certificates of Participation funding package which initiated going ahead with design. The following project alternatives were discussed. Altemative I No project-no cost. 3116192 Pg I
