Planning for Tomorrow in Truckee I attended the meeting of the Planning for Tomorrow in Truckee Committee on Wednesday, September 12 . it was more sparsely attended than I would have thought. Presentations were made by Truckee Sanitary District, the Fire District, the Recreation District, and our District. The purpose was to help the committee develop a position on whether to recommend inclusion of any Districts in the incorporation plan. . I suggest we monitor the process to see where it goes next. Attached are copies of the overhead slides I used during my presentation. Customer Service (916) 587-3896 Engineering Department (916) 587-3944 MEMORANDUM Date: September 14, 1990 To: Peter Holzeister, General Manager From: Andrew J. Hyde, District Civil Engineer - SUBJECT: Status Report - Donner Trails Tank No. 2 Staff Report for September 17, 1990 Board Meeting PROGRESS OF CONSTRUCTION Construction at the tank site has been underway for over a month. The old redwood tank and concrete pad have been removed. New inlet and overflow piping and one of two outlets have been installed for the new tank. The other outlet is to be installed next week. . Trees have been removed to make way for the new tank and to enlarge the access around the existing tank. Fewer trees were removed than originally anticipated. The site of the new tank is being filled to the proper grade. In-place density tests have indicated that compaction of both the tank subgrade and pipeline trenches is adequate. The tank foundation, tank, retaining wall, paving and painting are the major items still to be done. The Contractor is predicting that all work will be completed by the end of October. PROGRESS PAY REQUEST No. I Contractor has submitted Progress Pay Request No. 1. After review by Sauers Engineering and District staff, the first version of the pay request was returned to the Contractor for correction. The request was modified to eliminate some discrepancies and was resubmitted by the Contractor. After another review by Sauers Engineering and District staff, the revised request was found to be in order. The pay request is included in the bills for Board approval for this meeting. The specs require that the Contractor submit a schedule to the Engineer before the first pay request is processed. As this memo is written the required schedule has not yet been received from the Contractor. The Contractor has promised a schedule by Monday, September 17th. I recommend that Progress Pay Request No. 1 be approved contingent upon receipt of an Page Two Memo Donner Trails Tank No. 2 September 14, 1990 acceptable schedule from the Contractor. DAMAGE TO PAVEMENT The County has inspected the damage to the pavement in Northwoods Boulevard and Donner Trails Road and has concluded that an overlay is required to repair the damage. The County asked that the Contractor submit a proposal of the repair work to be done. We are working with Contractor to get the required information so that the work can be accomplished in concert with the paving work at the site.
