The date and time established for the bid opening is Wednesday, October 10 1984, at 4:00 P.M. Bids must be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and placed in a sealed envelope clearly marked "1985 Vehicle Purchase Bid," and delivered or mailed to the District at the above address. Bidders may bid any one or all of the vehicles; an accompanying bid bond is required. The Truckee Donner Public Utility District specifically reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive irregularities or informalities in any or all bids, be the sole judge of the suitability of the items offered, and to accept any bid that it determines to be in its best interest. Bid awards will be made at the October 15, 1984 regular meeting of the Board of Directors. smc I I INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS The Truckee Donner Public Utility District seeks to purchase three (3) half- ton pick-up trucks, two (2) three-quarter ton cab and chassis trucks, one (1) one-ton cab and chassis truck, and one (1) five passenger truck. The District will purchase these vehicles from the lowest responsible bidder who Is in substantial compliance with the specifications.. In awarding the bid, the District reserves the right to reject any and all bids if it is in the best interest of the District to do so. The successful bidder will be required to enter into a contract with the District and submit a performance bond in the full amount of the contract guaranteeing faithful performance. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked, "1985 Vehicle Purchase Bid." Bids must be submitted on the Form of Proposal, and the specification pages must be attached indicating compliance with specifica- tions and price breakdown. Any variation from specifications should be clearly indicated in the submission of supplemental documents. A bid bond In the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price must accompany the bid. Bids must be received by the Deputy District Clerk by 4:00 P.M. prevailing time, in the District office at 11570 Donner Pass Road, Post Office Box 309, Truckee, California 95734 on Wednesday, October 10, 1984, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. Bids will be awarded at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors of the District on Monday, October 15, 1984. Such meeting be- gins at 7:00 P.M. PLH/smc 9/14/84 A-1 SPECIFICATIONS GENERAL The Truckee Donner Public Utility District seeks to purchase three (3) half-ton pick-up trucks, two (2) three-quarter ton cab and chassis trucks, one (1) one- ton cab and chassis and one (1) five-passenger truck. All vehicles must meet California emission requirements. If possible, vehicles should also have high altitude emission systems, which should be 1985 models and should be under nor- mal factory warranty. All vehicles should be four-wheel drive, with full time four-wheel drive not acceptable. All vehicles must have two-speed transfer case; all vehicles must have spare wheel and tire, with limited service spare not acceptable. All vehicles must have full body underseal. All vehicles must have steel belted radial mud and snow tires and must have the letters " M 6 S" moulded into the sidewall of the tire. All vehicles should operate on unleaded gasoline. All vehicles should have automatic transmission, unless automatic is not compatible with four-wheel drive. SPECIFIC For each type of vehicle listed below, the bidder is asked to indicate whether the vehicle proposed meets the minimum specifications listed and the price of each item specified. If the item is included in the standard package price of the vehicle, please so indicate. 1.
