Subject: Award Control Enclosure Bid for Tahoe Donner Substation.
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
Only the Board can approve bid awards over $15,000.
2. HISTORY
This material purchase is required for the Tahoe Donner Substation Rebuild Project.
The Control Enclosure is an integral part of these substation improvements. The
Board of Directors awarded the engineering contract for this project in November
2007. The bid period began on October 20, and ended on November 20, 2008.
3. NEW INFORMATION
The District received 3 bids by the deadline. A summary of the bid information is
attached. Electrical Power Products (EP2) submitted the lowest responsive bid. Our
consultants have confirmed that the materials specified comply with District
requirements.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The FY08 Capital Budget includes $193,081 for this project, funded by rates.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Award the bid for one Control Enclosure assmbly to Electrical Power Products in the
amount of $162,254, not including taxes.
