Subject: Commend Outgoing Directors by Adopting Resolutions and
Awarding Plaques
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
The matter involves recognizing the important contributions and service of our two out-
going Board of Directors.
2. HISTORY
A Director serves a term of four years with the District. The election was held on
November 4, 2008. President Tim Taylor and Vice-President Bill Thomason were
elected in 2004.
3. NEW INFORMATION
The Board now has an opportunity to recognize both Tim Taylor and Bill Thomason
for their service to the District. Both Directors should be commended for their
considerable involvement and dedication to the TDPUD and our customers. The last
four years have been very significant in the history of the TDPUD and both Directors
Taylor and Thomason have played leading roles in the success of the TDPUD.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact with this matter.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Adopt resolutions and award plaques to recognize both Tim Taylor and Bill Thomason
for their term on the Truckee Donner PUD Board from 2004 to 2008.

Commending Bill Thomason
For His Service on the Board of Directors
WHEREAS, the Truckee Donner Public Utility District is a customer owned public utility organized
as a Special District under the laws of the state of California, and
WHEREAS, the Truckee Donner Public Utility District, established in 1927, provides electric and
water utility services to the community of Truckee, and
WHEREAS, the laws of the state of California require the Truckee Donner Public Utility District to
have an elected board of directors, and
WHEREAS, Bill Thomason was elected to the Truckee Donner Public Utility Board of Directors In
November 2004; and
WHEREAS, during his four years as a Director, Bill has demonstrated a superior work ethic,
knowledge, pride in doing a job completely and dedication to service to the community; and
WHEREAS, Bill Thomason served as Vice President in the fourth year of his term; and
WHEREAS, Bill Thomason has contributed to the success of the District in many ways by
adopting the Renewable Portfolio Standards; formulating the Mission, Goals and Objectives
Statement; selecting a new General Manager; analyzing Broadband potential; advocating for
greater openness through the use of streaming video; and implementing and funding the Water
Meter Project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE DISTRICT
THAT: the Truckee Donner Public Utility District hereby offers its sincerely appreciation to Bill
Thomason for his hard work and accomplishments.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors at a meeting duly called and held within the
District on the seventeenth day of December 2008 by the following roll call vote:

Commending Tim Taylor

WHEREAS, Tim Taylor served as Vice President in the second year of his term and President in
his third and fourth years; and
WHEREAS, Tim Taylor has contributed to the success of the District in many ways by adopting
the Renewable Portfolio Standards; formulating a Mission, Goals and Objectives Statement;
selecting a new General Manager; analyzing Broadband potential; providing a vision to improve
both electric and water infrastructure; and implementing and funding the Water Meter Project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE DISTRICT
THAT: the Truckee Donner Public Utility District hereby wishes to express its appreciation and
gratitude to Tim Taylor for his hard work and accomplishments.
