WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD The LPG to Natural Gas Conversion project for the District Office Complex is complete. 2. HISTORY The transition from propane to natural gas for heating has been identified as a means of significant savings to the District. The Board previously awarded the Natural Gas Line Conversion project to B & B Plumbing of Truckee at the September 16th Board meeting. 3. NEW INFORMATION B & B Plumbing completed the natural gas conversion the week of October 26th.The District has been on natural gas heat since October 20th. David Carvin of Ainsworth Associates; the engineering company that was hired to to design the natural gas conversion, completed the final inspection for the District on November 6th. The project is now complete. There were no change orders for this project. 4. FISCAL IMPACT There is sufficient funds in the approved fiscal year 2009 budget to pay for the conversion. The original bid amount was $24,769 plus a 10% change order authorization. As there was no change order authorized, the total amount of the conversion project was $24,769. 5. RECOMMENDATION Adopt the attached draft resolution accepting the LPG to Natural Gas Conversion project as complete and authorize the filing of the Notice of Completion. Michael D. Holley, has recommended that the work be accepted by the District; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of the District as follows: 1. That the District hereby accepts the LPG to Natural Gas Conversion as complete. 2. That the Clerk of the District be directed to file with the County of Nevada the Notice of Completion, a copy of which is attached hereto. 3. That 35 days following the filing of the Notice of Completion, the monies retained from the contractor payments be released to the contractor if no claims have been made to the District by material suppliers, laborers or sub-contractors. That on November 18, 2009 the hereinafter described improvements were accepted as complete pursuant to Resolution 2009-XX of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District, the awarding authority. 4. That the subject improvements of the Notice are generally described and identified as follows: LPG to Natural Gas Conversion. 5. That the name and address of the contractor for such project was: B & B Plumbing, Inc., 11172 Trails End, Truckee, CA 96161 (mailing address: Post Office Box 3129 Truckee, CA 96160). 1 certify under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of California that the foregoing is true and correct.
