Subject: Consideration of Continuing the Airport Water Tank Emergency
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
Only the Board can declare an emergency.
2. HISTORY
At the May 5, 2010 Board meeting, the Board declared an emergency for the Airport
Water Tank. The Board also dispensed with the normal bidding process and awarded
the design and repair work for the Airport Water Tank to DYK Incorporated in a
amount not to exceed $126,788.
Then at the May 19, 2010 Board meeting, by consent, the Board continued the Airport
Water Tank emergency.
3. NEW INFORMATION
On May 24, 2010 DYK inc. arrived at the Airport Tank site and began the field portion
of the tank repair work. DYK is on schedule to complete the repair work by the middle
of June 2010.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no direct fiscal impact associated with this item.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a motion confirming that the Airport Water Tank emergency continues.
