HomeMy WebLinkAboutCATT Letter C 4VIOT I t s Also c of TOO=T" March 17, 2010 The Honorable Jeff Bender President, Board of Directors Truckee Donner Public Utility District 11570 Donner Pass Road Truckee, CA 96161 RE: Consideration of an Ordinance Extending the General Manager's Employment Agreement Dear President Bender and Directors: The Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe is a regional trade association representing 220 member companies across the spectrum of the building industry. Many of our members are construction customers and utility ratepayers of the District. We are very sorry we cannot present this letter in person to you tonight. Please consider this a formal request by the Association for a delay of your decision on the General Manager's Employment Agreement (Agenda Item #12). The delay would be to the next TDPUD Board meeting. This request is based on a need to schedule a meeting between CATT members, TDPUD Board members, and TDPUD General Manager Holley primarily to better understand the proposed employment agreement and justification for the salary increase. In addition, CATT members have questions about the past Compensation Survey and future labor negotiations with other District staff (management and unions). A meeting to answer questions and allow some interaction between TDPUD Board members and CATT members is our goal with this letter. Nothing in this request should be construed to imply or suggest that a less than excellent performance has been given by General Manager Holley in his almost three years of service to the District. CATT members were not involved in the ongoing agenda item before now. It was not until the agenda packet was released last Friday and members saw the agreement terms over the weekend and Monday that questions came up. That resulted in our Local Government Affairs Committee (LGAC) Chairman Mitch Clarin asking President Bender to come speak at the LGAC meeting last night — which he did. We want to thank President Bender for his time with our members at the LGAC meeting. Thank you for listening. We look forward to your favorable decision on this request. Please contact either of us if you have any questions. in t1y, ' C TRUCKEE T OE 7it e J Mitch Clarin Pat Davison G Chairman, Executive Director Local Government Affairs Committee 12313 Soaring Way, Suite 1G Truckee CA 96161 • 530-550-9999 * fax 530-550-9998 • info@ca-tt.com
