WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD District Code , Title 3.12.020.1 authorizes the District account balances less than .17% Treasurer to write-off delinquent accounts receivable of the annual amounts billed from the balance. Write-off amounts in excess District's by the Board. HISTORY Historically, the District's write-off of delin quent accounts has been very low, due to the Board's credit and collection Policies and staffs balances. NEW INFORMATION The current semi-annual write-off li accounts that closed prior st totals $78,046. This list includes p r to June 30, 2010 and are now at least si unpaid total write-off amount for FY10, including x months old. The $33,214 less recoveries of n9 the first write-off list in the amount$5,404 totals $105,856. This total r ° of annual amounts billed for electric and water epresents 0.31 /° of the er services. The primary factor of the increase is due to the downturn in the economy. _ The accounts that are writ ten off are moved to the Uncollected A billing system. I f also been transferred to collection services customers with uncollected accounts apply prices for future, their prior accounts will display pp Y for service in the p y and unpaid balances can be collected.
