Subject: Consideration of the Appointment of General Manager as the Labor
Negotiator to Negotiate with the District's Unrepresented Employees
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
Only the Board can appoint a District negotiator.
2. HISTORY
The General Manager represents all District employees who are not represented by
the IBEW Local #1245. All terms and conditions of employment are negotiated by the
General Manager.
3. NEW INFORMATION
The General Manager will negotiate terms, conditions, and wages for the
unrepresented employees for 2012. Actual terms and parameters for the negotiation
will be discussed in Closed Session.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no direct fiscal impact associated with this matter.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Appoint the General Manager as the District's negotiator with the unrepresented
employees.
