Subject: Consideration of the Award of a Contrac
t for Phase 1 of the SCADA
Reliability Improvement Project
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
Board approval is required for expenditures in excess of 1$ 5,000.
2. HISTORY
The District has 5 electric and 55 water facilities located throughout our service
territory. These facilities include
electric substations, pump stations, wells, stora e
facilities tanks and control valves. We communicate to these faci ' ' g
media including leased data circuits, l over several types of
dial-up telephone lines, cellular modems and a
variety of radio systems. These communications stems w

4. FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funds exist within the approved FY11 District capital budgets udgets for this project.
Project benefits will accrue to the Electric and Water departments, therefore it is
proposed to split costs equally between the departments.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Award the SCADA Reliability Improvement Project to Curtis & S
in the amount of $279,653.50 plus a Sons Construction, Inc.
p 10 percent change order allowance for an
amount not to exceed $307,653.50.
