IBEW
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
Only the Board can approve labor agreements.
2. HISTORY
The two-year
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the IBEW 1245 expires on

tentative agreement is for a four-year term, 2012-2015, and affectswag

2012 - No general wage increase
2013 - COLA based on October 2012 CPI-W
2014 - COLA based on October 2013 CPI-W
2015 - COLA based on October 2014 CPI-W
Effective 1/1 2012 - 1.65% reduction in employee contribution rate to CaIPERS (this

direct) relates to the reduced amount owed due to refinancing of the
CalPERS Side-Fund).
The mem
bers of the Union voted and approved this tentative agreement on June 2,
2011.
4. FISCAL IMPACT

liability refinancing.
The estimated total present value savings to the District is $54,500 over the term of
the proposed MOU.
