Subject: Consideration of a Resolution to Commend Sam Aubrey for his
Many Years of Service
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
This matter involves adoption of a resolution recognizing Sam Aubrey for his many
years of service to the District on the occasion of his retirement.
2. HISTORY
In the spring of 1984, Sam Aubrey began his employment with the District as a
seasonal laborer with the Water Department. On April 21, 1986, Sam became a
permanent employee as a helper in the Water Department. In 1988, Sam progressed
to Water Serviceman, and in 1999 was promoted to his present position of Operations
Leadman.
In his nearly 26 years with the District, Sam has had a role in building or rebuilding 21
of the District's 35 pumping stations, along with keeping all of them in good working
3. NEW INFORMATION
Sam Aubrey is retiring. His last day is January 31, 2012. We are all so happy for him
because he has earned a rest. The draft resolution commending Sam for his service
to the District and its customers is included as Attachment 1. The District extends our
sincere appreciation and friendship to Sam and his wife Margie, and wishes them a
happy retirement.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this agenda item.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the resolution recognizing Sam Aubrey for his many years of service.

Commending Sam Aubrey
For His Professionalism and Dedication
WHEREAS Sam Aubrey has been an employee of this District since April 21, 1986; and
WHEREAS, during his nearly twenty six years of employment at the District, Sam has demonstrated a
superior work ethic, pride in doing a job completely and dedication of service to the community; and
WHEREAS, Sam has been a highly respected leader in the District's water crew and his advice has
been valued by District management throughout his career; and
WHEREAS, Sam's ethical behavior has established a standard that will guide District staff for years to
come; and
WHEREAS, Sam has contributed to the success of the District in many ways; and
WHEREAS, Sam has earned the admiration of his fellow employees and of this Board; and
WHEREAS, Sam has announced his retirement to be effective on January 31, 2012; and
WHEREAS,the Board of directors wishes to express its appreciation and gratitude for the performance
of Sam Aubrey.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE DISTRICT THAT:
• Sam and Margie Aubrey have the best of luck and happiness in their retirement; and
• Sam Aubrey be commended for his invaluable contribution to the success of the Truckee Donner
PUD,for his work ethic which stands as a model for others to emulate and for the friendship we
continue to share with him.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors at a meeting duly called and held within the District
on the fourth day of January 2012 by the following roll call vote:
