Funds have been set aside in the 2000 budget for purchase of three multi-purpose sport utility vehicles, one 1/2
ton regular cab, short bed pick-up truck, three four wheel drive service truck cabs and chassis, and one four
wheel drive 3/ton pick-up. The District issued a call for bids, advertised and mailed invitations to nearby auto
dealers. Still,only two bids were received. A copy of the bid summary is attached.
In addition to taking some exceptions to the specifications, neither bidder submitted a bid bond, so the bids are
non-responsive.
Recommendation
I recommend that the Board reject the bids. Further,that the Support Services Manager be directed to
obtain quotes on vehicles and to negotiate for the price and delivery dates most beneficial to the
District.
