Memorandum
To: Board of Directors
From: Ed Taylor,Water Superintendent

Consideration of proposal from Nimbus Engineering to provide
hydrogeologic services
Background
At the July 5, 2000 Board meeting, staff presented a request asking permission to proceed with a
scope of services and requesting a proposal for hydrogeologic services from Nimbus Engineering.
Before the July 5, 2000 Board meeting, a review was made to see which firms had staff with the
experience and expertise to provide the services the District needs to develop a new water supply.
Five firms were considered to be familiar with the Truckee area.
The five firms considered by staff were HSI GeoTrans, Kleinfelder, Nork, Lunderoff & Scalmanini,
and Nimbus Engineering. Nimbus Engineering has staff with a history of performance that meets the
District's needs.
The detailed proposal will be distributed on Monday July 17, 2000.
Recommendation
i recommend that the Board approve the proposal from Nimbus Engineering for
hydrogeologic services for a new wafer supply and authorize the execution of an agreement
for the proposed services.
