HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-07-19 Agenda Packet - Board (17) 1 DONNEDTRUCKEE PUblic Utility District ill Staff Report To: Board of Directors From: Peter L. Holzmeister Date: July 13, 2000 Paving of Alder Drive You will recall that residents of the unimproved portion of Alder Drive attended a recent Board meeting and described that they are attempting to improve the road and have it accepted by the Town. They asked that the District consider participating in the project, since we use the unimproved road as access to our water facilities. Directors asked for additional information regarding the project, which I am attempting to provide in this memorandum. 1. A map of the project,a copy of which is attached. 2. Identification of parcels, by parcel number reference back to the map, that would be participating in paying a share of the project cost. 3. The estimated cost for each participating parcel is$5,000. 4. The plan is to have Alder Drive end in a cul de sac at parcels 38 and 1 it was suggested that each parcel contribute to project cost based on a formula using parcel frontage and area. The project organizers stated that their preference was to have everyone pay the same amount, to avoid disagreements regarding application of the formula. As far as I know, that approach is still preferred by the project sponsors. This project is still in the planning phase. The details are not yet entirely resolved. It is difficult for us to make a full commitment until we know all the details. However, it may be possible to express the Districts intent to cooperate, subject to withholding final approval until the details are known. If the Board is interested in participating in the project I suggest you grant approval conditionally, as follows: (1) It is the intent of the Board to participate in the Alder Drive Pavement Upgrade Project, assuming the cost to the District will not exceed $5,000, and with final approval subject to a review of the final plans and costs; and (2)that District staff is authorized to participate in discussions with the project sponsors with the goal to more fully define the Districts participation, and (3) that the final decision shall come back before the District Board of Directors •Page 1 ALDER DRIVE PAVING PROJECT PARTICIPANTS PARCEL NUMBER NAME 29 Boaz 38 Lamantia 1 Broyer 30 Carolan 39 Tougeron 2 Cutter 41 Tammietti 31 Eagan/Duffy 32 Bechtold 20 Batie 21 Dernhoffer 19 Fernehough 14 Jones 37 Williams 22 Mihevoc 23 Brereton 16 Von Verg 41 (portion) TDPUD 05/10/00 WED 09:43 FAX 530 477 1608 CALIF LAND TITLE -44 TRUCKEE Z 017 R. 16 E. , M.
