Subject: Presentation of Nimbus Engineering hydrogeologic report
BACKGROUND.
The Board approved a contract with Nimbus Engineering. This contract was for a study on
the location for a new water supply and recommended locations for drilling of test wells. The
report is ready and well be presented at the Board Meeting.
RECOMMENDATION.,
1 recommend that the Board accept the report from Nimbus Engineering.

BACKGROUND:
The Board authorization staff to advertise for and accept and open bids for the drilling of test
well and production well with a bid opening date of November 13, 2000. Staff will deliver to
the Board the bid results and recommendations for award of the contract as soon as
available before the meeting.

SUBJECT: TEST AND PRODUCTION WELL DRILLING BID AWARD

The Board of Directors at the November 1, 2000 meeting authorized staff to advertise
and receive bids for the Test and Production Well Drilling Project. Bids were received
and opened on November 13, 2000. A total of two bids were received. Attached is a
summary showing the bid details. This bid is for the drilling three test well and a
production well.
The low bidder is Lang Exploratory Drilling of Elko, Nevada. We have reviewed all of
the bids and determined that the low bid is responsive to the contract requirements.
The State Contractor's License Board advises that the low bidder's Contractor's
License is current and active.
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend that the Board award the contract for drilling of three test wells for
$162,230.00 and the production well for $460,572.10 for a total of $622,602.10 to Lang
Exploratory Drilling of Elko, Nevada.

water Development regrets that we were unable to respond to the 'TDPUD
packages for the following reasons:
1. Water Development does not currently operate a rig large enough
to

the production well.
2 . At this time we do not believe that we have a local crew available
that
has enough recent experience with dual_ tube test holes as deep as
required.

Subject: Land Use Agreements for Test Well Sites.
BACKGROUND:
The Board authorization staff to proceed with the development of a new water supply.
Nimbus Engineering has been preparing a report identifying potential well sites. For the
District to drill a test well on any sites identified an agreement to enter on and drill the test
wells is required. The agreements well be presented at the Board Meeting for your
consideration for approval.
