Subject: BID AWARD PIPE AND MATERIALS FOR THE JOERGER DRIVE
TRANSMISSION PIPELINE PROJECT.
BACKGROUND:
The Board authorization staff to advertise for, accept and open bids for 24"pipe and other
materials for the pipeline project. Bids were received and opened on March 15, 2001.
Staff has totaled and reviewed all bids.
RECOMMENDATION:
1) Award the purchase of 24" Pipe to US Pipe & Foundry.
2) Award the purchase of Fittings, Specials & Other Appurtenances to Western
Nevada Supply Company

Supply of 4,032 feet of 24" Class 200 Ductile Iron Pipe with push-on joints, including delivery
and sales tax.

Subject: ENGINEERING AND INSPECTION SERVICES FOR MARTIS VALLEY
WELL#1 PUMP STATION AND PIPELINE
BACKGROUND:
The Board of Directors approved the Mattis Valley Well#1. The well drilling is complete. The
construction of a Pump Station and Pipeline for the project is about to start.
Staff is requesting the approval of a contract for services with Sauers Engineering for the
Construction Engineering and Inspection for the Mattis Valley Well#1 Pump Station and
Pipeline Project.
SCOPE OF ENGINEERING SERVICES
Task Fee
Construction Engineering $10,000
Construction Inspection $20,000
Total Estimate $30,000
The Scope of service for Construction Engineering and Inspection for the Mattis Valley Well
#1 Pump Station and Pipeline Project is defined in the attached proposal dated March 15,
2001.
RECOMMENDATION
That the Board approves the Engineering Services agreement with Sauers Engineering, Inc.
for service of Construction Engineering and Construction Inspection in an amount not to
exceed of$30,000.

This letter is mir proposal for construction engineering and,inspection service for the
Mattis Valley Well No. 1 pump station,pipeline,and conduit. We are proposing to
provide construction management and inspection for three construction eont} cts
currently out to bid.

Scope of Service
Engineering services will include the following tasks_
I. Construction Engineering. We NAH provide construction engineeriti services
including interpretation of contract requirements,preparation of field rders and
change order.,,review and certificatiun of conrral:l pwgiess payments reports to
the District regarding project progress, supervise regular contractorlW ter
Department/engineer coordination meetings, and related tasks. We 11 prepare
Record Drawings for the pump station building at the cumpletiun of�c caulk,and
provide mark-ups on the pipeline and conduit plans for preparation o Record
Drawings. We will make recommendations concerning acceptance tithe work,
and prepare Notices of Completion.
Construction Inspection. We will provide inspection during constrir tion to
assure compliance with the contract.

Schedule of Services
This project is expected to be completed April and June of this year, Our sc (ices under
this proposal will run concurrent with the construction and through project chse-ant.
F,ngineer's Fee
We propose to provide the services described above on a time and expenses basis with a
not-to-exceed amount. We will not exceed the maximum limits without fu er
