Memorandum
To: Board of Directors
From: Peter Holzmeister
Date: March 16, 2001
Subject: Nevada County LAFCo request for additional funds
Please review the attached letter dated February 14, 2001 from Nevada County LAFCo.
You will recall that we are paying the expenses they incur to process our application for
activation of the latent communications power. The letter says they have spent the
$10,000 we paid them in the past, and they now ask that we deposit with them an
additional $10,000. They are anticipating the cost to hire an expert to review the risk
mitigation plan that we will eventually submit in satisfaction of one the conditions
imposed on our tentative approval.
RECOMMENDATION: I recommend that the board approve placing on deposit with
Nevada County LAFCo an additional $10,000, and described in their letter of February
14, 2001
