You will recall that we are paying the expenses they incur to process our application for activation of the latent communications power. The letter says they have spent the $10,000 we paid them in the past, and they now ask that we deposit with them an additional $10,000. They are anticipating the cost to hire an expert to review the risk mitigation plan that we will eventually submit in satisfaction of one the conditions imposed on our tentative approval. RECOMMENDATION: I recommend that the board approve placing on deposit with Nevada County LAFCo an additional $10,000, and described in their letter of February 14, 2001 R PEC Nevada County LAFCo Local 950 Maidu Avenue Agency Nevada City, CA 95959-8617 Phone 530 265 7180 Formation Toll Free 888 846 7180 Commission Fax 530 265 7183 E-mail lafco@co.nevada.ca.us Torn Bata February 14,2001 Cities Patti Ingram Cities Elizabeth Marti County Judith Petorson Peter Holzmeister, General Manager Public Truckee Donner Public Utility District Rest Sweet P. With an independent professional Cities Attemate review of the District's risk mitigation plan in prospect, as well as further reviews and Paul Notsett consultation by LAFCo staff, counsel, and committee members, substantial additional PublicAltemerte expense to complete action on the proposal can reasonably be anticipated.
