Subject TDPUD's 7e Anniversary Celebration Planning

The Truckee community officially took over control of the Truckee River electric company and
formed the Truckee Donner Public Utility District in 1927. The year 2002 marks the 75 year
anniversary that the District has been in the electric business. Staff would like to discuss with
the Board ideas on how we could celebrate TDPUD's 75 years worth of service to the
community. Some of the ideas that have been discussed include:

• marking our letterhead and envelopes with a 75 year anniversary emblem
• convert the lobbylbome show display with an emphasis on this event; old photos
• hang a banner on the "front'of the building; "TDPUD, Serving Truckee for 75 Years"
• photos of Board members and General Manager in the customer service lobby area
• re-print of old TDPUD articles once per month in the Sierra Sun; research in Library
• proclamations or testimonials from key persons or organizations: Town, State, Federal,
CMUA, APPA, other
Marketing Pieces
• anniversary handout which includes a history of accomplishments over the last 75 years
• next newsletter addition will be timed to come out in January and focus on the anniversary
Community Outreach
• speakers bureau to visit Truckee clubs and organizations
• Photo or art contest with TDPUD theme
Give-a-Ways
• anniversary polo shirts for every employee and Board member; a diamond celebration
• employees, Board members and customers lapel pin w175 year slogan or tag line
• decals or stickers for TDPUD vehicles, equipment
• anniversary candles for every employee and Board member

• monthly events; including Open House, Chamber Mixer, Summer Concert in the Park
• float or fleet of trucks and equipment in the 4ta of July Parade
• TDPUD Day at West End Beach, cover admission for an attendees
