Wright, General Manager RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Brian Wright, General Manager as the District's negotiator for 2024 MOU negotiations with IBEW Local 1245 BACKGROUND: The District maintains a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1245 for negotiated terms of employment, salaries and benefits. The current MOU was last negotiated in 2019, with a term of 2020-2024. The current MOU is scheduled to expire on December 31, 2024. ANALYSIS AND BODY: Staff has held preliminary discussions with representatives of IBEW Local 1245 and desire to begin the negotiations process in the second half of October. Staff is recommending the Board appoint Brian Wright, General Manager, as the District's negotiator. Actual terms (parameters) for negotiations will be discussed and reviewed with the General Manager by the Board in closed session. Upon completion of negotiations, staff will place the final ratification of the MOU on the Board agenda for approval. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: District Code 1 .05.020 Objectives: 1.
