Home My WebLink About7 Surveying Donner Pass road 7 )IIII�I LTRUCKEE • a NER Public Utility District Memorandum To: Board of Directors From: Neil Kaufman, Water Systems Engineer Date: May 10, 2002 Subject: PROPOSAL TO PERFORM SURVEYING ALONG DONNER PASS ROAD BACKGROUND: As part of the ongoing reconstruction of the Donner Lake Water System, I am anticipating construction of a 12-inch pipeline along Donner Pass Road from the Tahoe Donner Association's beach house to Eddy Avenue. At the TD Beach House, this 12-inch pipeline would be connected into the existing 18-inch steel pipeline in Donner Pass Road. The 18-inch pipe would be inspected and rehabilitated (likely either cleaned and concrete-lined, or slip-lined) as necessary to place it into service. This combination 12/18-inch pipeline would serve as the primary feed for groundwater from the Gateway area into Donner Lake. There are a number of existing utilities in Donner Pass Road through this area including: • Two potable water lines • One gravity sanitary sewer • One sanitary sewer force main • Underground telephone ducts (Pacific Bell) • Underground power, telephone and cable TV drops to individual structures • Underground fiber optic conduits (Williams) • Natural gas piping In order to properly design, permit and construct the pipeline, I believe it is necessary to have this portion of Donner Pass Road completely surveyed. I have asked Sagebrush Surveying to provide a proposal to perform this survey work. Sagebrush has done survey work at a number of locations in the Donner Lake area and likely has best established control network in this area.
