Resolution No. 2025 - 14
Commending Earl Smith for His Many Years of Service
WHEREAS, Earl Smith has been a District Employee since December 2003; and
WHEREAS, Earl began his journey at the District as a Water Technician in training,
steadily advancing through the ranks to become a Water Operations Leadman. His
dedication and expertise drove him further into the role of Operations Foreman, and
now, he concludes his impressive career as Water Operations Manager; and
WHEREAS, throughout his 21-year tenure at the District, Earl has exemplified an
outstanding work ethic and unwavering dedication to both his community and the
District.
WHEREAS, Earl has played a vital role in shaping key infrastructure projects, his
expertise and leadership were instrumental in the development of numerous critical
infrastructure construction projects including the Donner View Pump Station, Ponderosa
Palisades Pump Station and the Joe Aguera Pump Station; and
WHEREAS, Earl has throughout his career exemplified the District's Core Values of
Safety, Communication, Integrity, Accountability, Timeliness and Work-Life Balance,
and
WHEREAS, Earl has been a distinguished leader within the District's water crew,
earning the respect and trust of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Earl has announced his retirement to be effective on October 31, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Truckee Donner Public Utility District expresses profound gratitude for
Earl's tireless contributions and commitment to its mission; and
WHEREAS, the District extends our best wishes to Earl in retirement, hoping for a
future filled with joy, relaxation and continued success; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee
Donner Public Utility District as follows:
That Earl Smith has the best of luck and happiness in his retirement; and that he be
commended for his invaluable contribution to the District's the community of Truckee, for
his exceptional service which stands as a model for others to emulate and for the
friendship we continue to share with him.

District at a meeting held within said District on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 by the
