Holzmeister Date: February 15, 2002 Subject: Donner Lake water system rehabilitation We are ready to launch the Donner Lake water system rehabilitation program for 2002. We got much done in 2001, but there is much more still to do. There are actually three projects that we would like to go to bid on at this time. a) Installation of Services for the West-end of Donner Lake: Attached is a map entitled Installation of Services for the West End of Donner Lake. The area outlined in hash marks identifies where water lines were installed last year, and services need to be installed this year RECOMMENDATION: I recommend that the Board approve the plans, specifications and contract documents for the Installation of Services for the West End of Donner Lake, and issue a call for bids with a bid opening date of April 9, 2002 b) Installation of Pipelines and Appurtenances for the North Shore of Donner Lake: Attached is a map entitled Installation of Pipelines and Appurtenances for the North Shore of Donner Lake. The area outlined in hash marks identifies the area where we would like to replace the existing Donner Lake water distribution system. As you will see on the map, there is an area near South Shore Drive that is included because permitting issues kept us from replacing pipelines in this area last year. We plan to partner with Southwest Gas in this project. RECOMMENDATION: I recommend that the Board approve the plans, specifications and contract documents for the Installation of Pipelines and Appurtenances for the North Shore of Donner Lake, an issue a call for bids with a bid opening date of April 9, 2002 c) Donner Lake Materials Purchase 2002 Project: Our plan is to contract for the work of installing pipelines and services, but for the District to provide under separate contract the material to be installed by the contractor. We wold like to go to bid for material at this time. RECOMMENDATION: I recommend that the Board approve the specifications and contract documents for the Donner Lake Materials Purchase 2002 Project, and issue a call for bids with a bid opening date of April 9, 2002
