Subject: Consideration of a resolution declaring certain computer equipment
as surplus and authorizing staff to dispose of it in accordance with
District policy
We have been cleaning out closets and have put together the attached list of old
computer equipment that is no longer being used. Some of the equipment is very old.
Much of it came from the old IBM System 36. Many items are printers that have been
fixed and fixed. At some point you just have to replace them because th a new ones are
so much cheaper. Many items are broken and are not worth fixing.
RECOMMENDATION:
To adopt a resolution declaring the attached list of computer equi pment surplus
and authorize staff to dispose of according to District policy.

Declaring certain computer equipment as surplus and authorizing
staff to dispose of it in accordance with District policy
WHEREAS, the District owns computer equipment listed on the attached as Exhibit A and,
WHEREAS, the listed computer equipment is not necessary for the District's use; and
WHEREAS,the District could dispose of the computer equipment and utilize the funds from the sale
of said assets for other purposes.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors adopts the above recitals as its
findings; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, for the reasons set forth above, the Board declares the
computer equipment listed on Exhibit A attached, as surplus property; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the General Manager is directed to dispose of said property in
accordance with District policy.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors at a meeting duly called and held within the
District on the 4th day of September, 2002 by the following roll call vote:
