HomeMy WebLinkAbout12 Voltage Regulator Agenda Item # r I . Memorandum To: Board of Directors From: Joe Horvath, District Electrical Engineer Date: September 12, 2002 Subject: Voltage Regulator Bid Award Recommendation The existing voltage regulators at Donner Lake Substation, now over 30-years old, are PCB contaminated, at the end of their useful life, and must be replaced. Funds were budgeted in 2001 for the procurement of new regulators. Bids were opened on June 14, 2001 with responsive bids received from 2 vendors. Subsequent to bid opening it was decided by staff not to proceed with the bid award process because of budgetary concerns. Funds were again budgeted in 2002 for procurement of new voltage regulators. We contacted the low bidder, Western States, and they informed us that they would still honor their price from last years bid. Attached is a summary schedule of the bid information received. The schedule shows the description and quantity of regulators required, manufacturer, quoted price, delivery time, and any noted exceptions to our contract and/or specifications. Recommendation: I recommend the Board approve the following Schedule as shown below for the purchase of voltage regulators for Donner Lake Substation: A Western States 3 $14,426 00 $43,278.00 Total $43,278.00 VOLTAGE REGULATOR BID SUMMARY Schedule A 667 kva, 7620v, Single Phase regulator, Quantity: 3 Quoted Total Exceptions Bidder Manuf.
