Memorandum
To: Board of Directors
From: Ed Taylor, Water Utility Manager
Date: 6-3-2002
Subject: Consideration of proposal from Cooksley Geophysics, Inc. to provide
geophysics services in geophysics testing in the northeast area (89 north) to
determine the geology of the area
BACKGROUND:
In November of 2001, the Board approved a contract with Aqua Hydrogeologic Consulting
for the locating of new well sites for water supply. Staff and David Carlson for Aqua
Hydrogeologic Consulting have identified the need for geophysics testing in the northeast
area (89 north) to determine the geology of the area. The information developed by the
geophysics testing will be used to determine future well site locations, development of a
three dimensional computer model of the area, and the basic for a computer based ground
water management plan.
Staff recommends that a contract be approved in the amount not to exceed of$87,500 with
Cooksley Geophysics, Inc to perform geophysics testing in the north east area (89 north) to
determine the geology of the area as an aid in locating future well sites per the attached
proposal.
RECOMMENDA71ON:
I recommend that the Board approve the proposal from Cooksley Geophysics, Inc. for
geophysics testing services in the amount not to exceed of$87,500 and authorize the
execution of an agreement for the proposed services.
