/^ AMENDING DISTRICT ELECTRIC RULE NO. 19
DISCONTINUANCE & RESTORATION OF SERVICE -
WHEREAS, on May 21, 1984 the Board of Directors of the Truckee
Donner Public Utility.District passed and adopted Resolution No. 8430
establishing District policy regarding the discontinuance and restoration ,
of electric service; and
WHEREAS, Section 19(B) of Electric Rule No. 19 does not allow the
District to discontinue service in the event unsafe.or illegal apparatus
is discovered without giving the customer five days notice; and .
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that unsafe or illegal apparatus
could pose a hazardous condition to our customers if not immediately dis-
continued;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of tile
Truckee Donner Public Utility District as follows:
1. That Electric Rule No. 19 is hereby amended this date
as set forth in the attachment hereto.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner
Public Utility District at a meeting held within said District on the
21st day of January , 1985 by the following roll call vote,
AYES: Cooley, Corbett, Maass and Duffy.
NOES: None. '
ABSENT: Hamilton.

POLICY STATEMENT
19.1 Discontinuance of service by District - The District may discontinue or xe-
fuse to establish or restore electric service for any one of more of the rcaGpn§
contained in this rule. Except as otherwise specifically provided herein, five
days written notice will be given before service is discontinued.
19.1 (A) Non-payment of bills - the District may discontinue or refuse ser-
vice if a customer has not paid his bills for electric service, or
has not paid reconnection charges, or has not made cash deposit as
required by the District in accordance with its policies provided,
however, that the District must give the customer seven days prior
written notice and otherwise comply with Public Utilities Code Sec-
tions 16482 and 16483.
19.1 (B) Unsafe or illegal apparatus - the Distaâ–ºict may discontinue service
without notice or refuse service if any part of customer's wiring
or equipment or use thereof, is either unsafe or in violation of
law, until such apparatus is placed in a safe condition or the vio-
lation remedied.
19.1 (C) Service detrimental to other customers - the District may discon-
tinue or refuse service if, in District's judgment, the operation
of customer's equipment is or will be detrimental to the service
of other customers.
19.1 (D) Fraud - the District may discontinue service without notico Pr
refuse service if the customer's actions or the condition of his
premises is such as to indicate his intent to defraud the District.
19.1 (E) Failure to establish or re-establish credit - the District may dis-
continue or refuse service if customer fails to establish credit in
accordance with the rules and regulations.
19.1 (F) Discontinuance of service - District may discontinue or refuse ser-
vice if customer does not comply with District's rules and regula-
tions, or for non-payment of bills. If, in District's judgment,
operation of customer's equipment constitutes a dangerous condition,
District may discontinue service without notice.
19.1 (G) Restoration of service - whether at customer's request or due to
non-payment of bills, or non-compliance with District rules, the
District may charge not more than the minimum reconnection fee
during regular working hours, or not more than the minimum call-
out fee during a period other than regular hours.
