Home My WebLink AboutRES 1985-31 - Board 10"1 RESOLUTION NO. 8531 OF THE TRUCKEE DONNER PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS AND CALLING FOR BIDS ON CONSTRUCTION SERVICE TYPE MODIFIED FLAT BED FOR 1985 CAB/CHASSIS FOR THE WATER DEPARTMENT WHEREAS , the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District has determined the need to purchase a construction service type modified flat bed to fit a 1985 cab/chassis for the Water Department ; and WHEREAS , specifications for such a construction service type modified flat bed are given in the schedule attached hereto ; NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District does hereby approve the specifications described in the attached schedule ; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District is hereby directed to issue a call for bids based on the specifications for one construction service type modified flat bed to fit a 1985 cab/chassis. The date and time established for the bid opening is Thursday , September 12 , 1985 , at 2: 00 P.M. Bids must be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and placed in a sealed envelope clearly marked "BID - Construction service type modified flat bed ," and mailed or delivered to the District at the above address . An accompanying bid bond is �,.., required . The Truckee Donner Public Utility District specifically reserves the right to reject any and all bids , waive irregularities or informalities in any or all bids , be the sole judge of the suitability of the item offered , and to accept any bid that it determines to be in its best interest. Bid awards will be made at the second meeting in September 1985 by the Board of Directors . D2/23 TRUCKEE DONNER PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS The Truckee Donner Public Utility District seeks to purchase a construction service type modified flat bed to fit a 1985 Ford one ton cab/chassis with a 56" cab to axle , single rear tires ; chassis with dual factory fuel tanks as described in the attached specifications . The District will award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder who is in substantial compliance with the specifications . In awarding the bid , the District reserves the right to reject any and all bids if it is in the best interest of the District to do so. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked "BID - Construction service type modified flat bed ." Bids must be submitted on the Form of Proposal , and the specification page must be attached indicating compliance . Any variation from the specifications should be clearly indicated in the submission of supplemental documents. A bid bond in the amount of ten percent ( 10%) of the total bid price must accompany the bids. The successful bidder will be required to submit a performance bond in the full amount of the purchase price guaranteeing faithful performance. Bids must be received by the Deputy District Clerk by 2 :00 P.M. prevailing time , in the District office at 11570 Donner Pass Road , Post Office Box 309 , Truckee , California 95734 on Friday , September 12 , 1985 , at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. Bids will be awarded at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Director of the District on Monday , September 16 , 1985. Such meeting begins at 7 : 00 P. M. sf D2/18 TRUCKER DONNER `PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT SPECIFICATIONS FOR WATER DEPARTMENT CONSTRUCTION SERVICE TYPE MODIFIED FLAT BED Modified flat bed to fit 1985 Ford cab/chassis with 56" cab to axle and single rear tires . Chassis with dual factory fuel tanks . Intended use The completed unit will be used to carry heavy pipe , pipe fitting tools , pipe fittings and other water facility construction materials and equipment . The construction of this unit shall provide durable and problem-free operation for this use. Body dimensions, equipment and accessories The attached sheets 1 through 5 provide various views and detailed descriptions of the modified flat bed unit and are hereby incorporated as part of this specification. Mounting, painting and delivery 1 . District will deliver cab/chassis to successful vendor ' s facility if it is within 125 miles of District office. Vendor will be charged $30 per hour per man for two men for cab/chassis delivery outside this range . 2. In addition to any other undercoatings or top coatings , a rust preventative coating of R-M #834 Zip or Sherwin Williams #E2G973 shall be applied to bare steel . 3 . Completed flat bed to be painted to match cab/chassis color . 4 . Completed flat bed to be undercoated after mounting on cab/chassis. 5. District shall pick up completed unit at vendor 's facility if it is within 125 miles of District office . Vendor will be charged $30 per hour per man for two men for pick up of completed unit outside this range.
