OF THE
TRUCKEE DONNER PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
ESTABLISHING A POLICY REGARDING THE USE
OF FACSIMILE MACHINES FOR RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public
Utility agrees that the purpose for requiring sealed bids is to
provide confidentiality up to the point of the public bid opening;
and
WHEREAS, a facsimile transmission, by it's nature, is not protected
by confidentiality; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined it is inappropriate
for the District to consider any document transmitted by facsimile
machine because the consideration of such a document could place
District staff in a position where an allegation of wrong-doing
could be made;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the
Truckee Donner Public Utility District that the following policy be
adopted:
It is the policy of the Truckee Donner Public Utility
District to prohibit the consideration of any document
sent to the District by facsimile transmission in
response to an invitation for sealed bids.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner
Public Utility District at a regular meeting duly called and held
within the District on the 18th day of June 1990 by the following
roll call vote:
AYES: Aguera, Corbett, Curran, Sutton and Maass.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
