HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-05-01 Min Ord - Board PROCLAMATION OF THE TRUCKEE DONNER PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT WHEREAS, water is California's most precious natural resource, and; WHEREAS, the health and welfare of the people and the state's economic growth depend on a reliable and safe supply of water, and; WHEREAS, water also provides Californians with recreation and beauty as well as enhances fish and wildlife habitats, and; WHEREAS, because water plays such a vital role in our everyday lives, it is important that individuals understand how water is developed, treated, and delivered, and; WHEREAS, local water agencies throughout the state serve the public by delivering water from the watershed to our homes and businesses at an affordable price, and; WHEREAS, during the week of May 1, the Truckee Donner Public Utility District, in cooperation with the California Water Awareness Committee composed of various urban and agricultural water communities, will work to increase understanding of how quality water is delivered to the people of California; NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District hereby proclaims May 1 - 5, 1989 as Water Awareness Week and urges all citizens to join in supporting the District in its efforts to help the Truckee community become water aware.
