HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1950-00 - Board RESOLUTION X000 WHEREAS: THE TRUCKEE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT , herein called the 'APPLICANT". a ariou s aspects of the )roblem and study of available data has hereby determined that the con-- 3truction of certain public works, generally described as a public grater works to serve the area adjacent to Donner lake and within the ibove district , is desirable and in the public interest and to that end t is necessary that action preliminary to the construction of said corks be taken immediately: and -WHEREAS: under the terms of taut,l i c law 152, 81 st Congress, arnroved )cto'�er 13, 1949, the United States of America has authorized the making )f advances to public rodies to aid in defraying the cost of architectural, engineering, and economic investigations and studies, :purveys, designs, )1.ans, working drawings, specifications, rrocedures and ether action pre- 1.iminary to the construction of public works (exclusive of housing) *, and WHEREAS, the applicant has examined and duly considered such act and ;he applicant considers it to be in the public interest and to its benefit ;o file an application under said act and to authorize other action in :onnection therewith ; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY Board of Directors Ph a governing body of said applicant , as follows: 1. That the construction of said public works is essential to and is �o the. best interests of the applicant , and to the end that such public ,gorks .nay be provided as promptly as practicable it is desirable that fiction preliminary to the constructidn thereof be undertaken immediately; 2. That C. Edmunds, General Manager of the District 3e hereby authorized to file in behalf of the applicant an application ( in form required by the United States and in conformity with said act) for an advance to be made by the United States to the applicant to aid in defraying the planning cost preliminary to the construction of such iub 1 is works, which shall consist generally of approximately 6800 feet 3f 8- inch,9000 feet of 6-inch, 1700 feet of 4-inch , and 4500 4f-2-inch 4ater mains; the development of a spring and surface storage; and a fall, pump, and pump house. 3. That it such advance be made the applicant shall provide or make iecessary arrangements to provide such funds, in addition to the advance, is May t,a required to defray the cost of such action preliminary to the -.onstruction of the public Works; 4. The said representative is hereby authorized to furnish such information and take such other action as may be necessary to enable ;he applicant to qualify for the advance; 5. That the officer designated in the preceding ^aragraph is hereby iesignated as the authorized representative of the applicant for the iurpose of furnishing f o the United States such Information, data and locuments Pertaining to the application for an advance as may t~e -eouired- and otherwise to act as the authorized renresentati ve of the irplicant in connection with this application. 6.
