(c) A casual (temporary) employee is one hired for occasional or seasonal work or for a limited time's (d) New employees hired for a regular allssification shall be placed upon a 6 months probationary periodp at the end of , hich tiz:ie Wq p if he has dmvnstrated his ability and qualifications therefore, he shall be given a definite classification as hereinafter set forth, 1 11 W)HKIM HuUHS I (a) The established work week for 631 herein classified employees is frorzi Saturday midn:ight to Saturday, midnights (b) The nor tua work week shall be 5 daYs of 8 hours each and shall begin Mo:4ay and run through Friday. (c) The hours of work shall be from 8 A M to 12 noon and from 1 P m to 5 P m. (c) An employee required to perform work on an recognized holiday or after 5 p m Friday and before 8 A M Monday shall be paid overtime. (d) Overtime shall be computed to the nearest quarter hour. (e) Any ec loyee, called outside of reguLw work hours shall be a] .lowed not less than two hours pay at the overtime rate. (f ) Overtime compensation shall wean a rate of pay equivalent to one and one --half (1'`) times the standard rate of pay. HOLIDAYS The following* are the recognized paid Holidays by the District. TRA SPORTATION (a) At the discretion of the District, transportation shallbe furnished all employees in the perfoiTmee of their duties. (b) i.�V employee asked to use his own personal means of transportation for District business shall be reim- bursed at the rate of 80 per mile or $1.00 per day as the District may elect. VACATION r (a) An employee who has worked as a regular employes for the District for a period of twelve oonsecutive ,months shall be entitled to five work days with A13 3 pay. (b) An employee who has worked as a regular employee for the District for a period of twenty four or more con- secutive months shaU be entitled to ten work days with full. pay. (c) An employes who has completed ten yearns of continuous service with the District sha 3 be entitled to fifteen work days with ni-11 pay. (d) Al2 vacations shall be taken on consecutive dam waess otherwise mutually agreed upon between District and the employee. (e) Any amployyee who shall leave the District before taking his regular scheduled vacation, shall be entitled to receive full, pay for the days, covered by his vacation period. (f) Vacations may be scheduled at any time from the first of the year to the and of the year by =Auai agreement of District and employee, (g} Before April 1 of each year, there will be a sign-oup in each department so that employees may designate their choice of vacation periods. (c) The District reserves the right to drag rewon.able safety rules for employees and to insist on the observai-ices of such rules. UNION ACTIVITY (a) The District will not discriminate against an employee because of his membership in a Union and eqployees are effected not to discriminate against any eMloyee because of his non -affiliation with a Union. SICK LEAVE (a) Saployees after one year of continuous service shall be entitled to a 5 day sick leave with per. (b) .rinployees after two years of continuous service shall be entitled to 1.0 da$a sick leave with p. (c) The District may require satisfactory evidence of an employee's illness or disability before sick leave will be granted. If it is found that the employee is taking ur. - .L s advantage of sick leave provi.sionsp said employee sluill forfeit all sick leave accumulated up to that date. (d) Nothing in the foregoing article shall, be interpreted to entitle the employee to sick leave while on vacation, temporarily laid off by the District, upon swerence of employment, or while receiving industrial oompensation. wukllZs-�z (a) If District requires an e:aployee to perform work for one and one-half hours or r more beyond regular work hours, it shall provide hire with a meal approximately one and one-half hours after re ular quitting time and with meals at intervals thereafter of approximately 4 hours, but not more than 5 hours, for as long as he continues such work. (b) If an employee, who is entitled to meals at District ex-- pense, does not accept any such meal, the District never%- theless shall allow him time with paq equivalent to the time usually taken to eat a meal, rely, ones -half hour. 0R ;' VANC;; PROCIZURE (a) As the initial step in the adjustment of a grievance, the anployee shall discuss sarae i- th the superintendent in charge. If the grievance is not settled in this manner the employee shall request and be ;ranted a hearing with the manager. Should the grievance still not be settled to the satisfaction of the employee, he shall request and be granted a hearing before the regular meting of the Board of Directors and their finding shall be final armd binding. (b) No deduction in time shall be made of any employee in presenting and discussing his grievance before the parties above -mentioned. enti.on©d.
