RESOLUTION NO* �L� i OF 3 I� TRUCKEE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT 4 II APPROVING ENGINEERS ' FINAL PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS 5 � AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS FOR THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCT 6 � ION, AND COMPLETION OF CERTAIN WATER MAIN FACILITIES - 7 AND APPURTENANCES , PROVIDING AND CALLING FOR SEALED 8 BIDS THEREIN, AND ESTABLISHING PREVAILING RAZE OF 9 WAGES THEREFOR; AND CALLING FOR SEPARATE BID ON MATERIALS 10 TO BE ACQUIRED BY THE DISTRICT IN RELATION TO THE PROJECT 11 WHEREAS , the Board of Directors of Truckee Public Uti lity ` 12 District heretofore duly authorized and directed its engineers , 13 Walters, Ball, and Hibdon, to prepare certain plans and specifi- 14 catiuns and cost estimates for the acquisition, construction, and 15 completion of certain water main facilities and appurtenances and 16 WHEREAS , said Engineers have submitted to this Board of 17 � Directors its final plans and specifications and contract documm 18 merits applicable to the acquisition, construction, and completion 19 of the proposed water mains and appurtenances , and has recommends 20 to the Board that it would be to the advantage and best interests 21 of the District that the construction of said project called for 22 separately, and that certain materials in reference thereto be 23 obtained by the District pursuant to separate bid , and 24 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors desires to commence con- 25 struction of said project , and the acquisition of said materials , 26 as soon as possible ; 27 NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED AND IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED 28 BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF TRUCKEE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT 29 AS FOLLOWS 40 30 1 . That the final plans and specifications of the Distric 31 Engineer, Walters, Ball and Hibdon,, including reports , estimates , 32 and contract documents applicable to the acquisition, constructio 9ERLAIN AND CHAMBERLAIN ATTORNEYS AT LAW /K OF CALIFORNIA BLDG. dW 1 � AUOURN, CALIFORNIA �; I i; �I I� 1 and completion of proposed water mains and appurtenances for said 2 District shall be and the same are hereby approved as the final 3 plans and specifications and contract documents therefor, and a 4 copy of the same shall be placed on file with the Clerk of this 5 I District 6 2 . That said Board of Directors does hereby find and Bete14 7 mine that it will be to the advantage and best interests of the 8 District that a separate call for construction bids be made , one 9 as to the construction and installation of the water mains , and 10 a second call for bids as to the acquisition by the District of 11 certain materials in reference to the project , which materials 12 will then be provided for use therein. 13 3 . That the Clerk of this District shall and is hereby 14 authorized and directed to publish twice in the Sierra Sun, a 15 newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the 16 District , a notice to contractors inviting or calling for sealed 17 bids for the acquisition, construction, and completion of the 18 proposed water mains and appurtenances, as more particularly des- 19 c ribed in the final plans and specif ications and contract docu- 20 ments therefor , and this they approved as hereinabove set forth . 21 That the Clerk of this District shall and is authorized 22 and directed to publish twice in the Sierra Sun, a newspaper of 23 general circulation., printed and published in the District, a 24 notice to suppliers of materials , inviting and calling for sealed 25 bids for the preparation and delivery to the District of certain 26 materials to be used in reference to said pro ject, as a list 27 thereof has been prepared and provided to the District by its 28 engineers . 29 That said notices shall refer Co the final plans and speop 30 cifications and contract documents on file in the office of the 31 District, and material list', as prepared by its engineers , which 32 said notices shall -be in substantial conformity with the followi.n .k •SERLAIN AND CHAMBERLAIN ATTORNEYS AT LAW M OF CALIFORNIA BLDG. 2 AUBURN, CALIFORNIA . o 1 � In conformity with Exhibit "A" as to the call for con- 2 struction of the water mains and appurtenances ; and 3 � In accordance with Exhibit "B" as to the materials and c 4 � supplies to be obtained and acquired by Truckee Public Utility 5 District , in reference to said project . 6 it Each said notice shall be published in two weekly issues I 7 of the newspaper hereinabove specified consecutively, and the 8 first publication thereof shall be made at least ten days prior 9 to ft, ]! ,date set for bid opening . 10 4. That the Clerk of this District shall mail or cause t 11 � be mailed copies of the notice to contractors , and of the notice 12 of acquisition of material to such persons , firms or news services 13 as may in the discretion of the Clerk be deemed interested in or 14 likely to notify personsor firms interested in submitting bids 15 or proposals for said work, or for said materials , in reference 16 thereto . 17 5 . That sealed proposals or bids hereinabove provided for 18 and in reference to said construction project shall be accompan- 19 led by certified or cashier's check or satisfactory corporate 20 surety bid bond , payable to the order of Truckee Public Utility 21 District, in an amount not less than ten percent of the amount 22 bid , which said check or bond proceeds shall be payable to or 23 forfeited to the District if the successful bidder does not ente 24 into the required contract and give the required labor and per- 25 foruance bonds or other bonds as specified in said contract docu 26 ments within five days after notice that the contract has been 27 awarded to him . 28 That in reference to the construction project the success 29 ful bidder shall furnish Labor and performance bond equal to not 30 less than 100% of the contract price, which said bond shall be 31 secured from a surety company and be in forth satisfactory to the 32 District . -BERLAIN AND CHAMBERLAIN ^ ATTORNEYS Al LAW iK OF CALIFORNIA BLDG. That sealed proposals or bids in reference to the con- 2 i; struction project shall be sent or delivered to and filed with 3 Truckee Public Utility District at its District Office , Truckee, 4 l California , on or before the hour of 7:30 0'clock P.M. , C .D ,S ,, , j on the 21st day of May, 1968 , at which time and place and on such 6 `► date each bid or proposal will be opened and publiclyread and 7 declared . $ Bids or proposals for the construction of the water main 9 and related appurtenances may not be withdrawn for a period of 10 60 days af ter the date set for bid opening , as noted above 11 and the District reserves the right to reject any or all bids , or 12 to waive any irregularity or informality in the bidding procedures , 13 or in any bids or proposals , 14 7 , That sealed proposals or bids in reference to the 15 material so to be acquired and obtained by Truckee Public Utility 16 District in reference to said project shall be sent or delivered 17 to and filed with the District at its office in Truckee, Calif- 18 ornia , on or before the hour. of 7:30 o 'clock P0 M. on the 19 21st day of , Ma 19681 at which time and place and on 20 such date said material bids or proposals will be opened and 21 publicly read and declared , said notice to be in conformity with 22 copy thereof , attached hereto, and marked Exhibit "B" and by this 23 reference incorporated herein. Materials bids or proposals may 24 not be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date 25 set for, bid opening, and the District reserves the right to re jec 26 any or all bids , or to waive any irregulari ty or informality in 27 the bidding procedures , or in any bids or proposals in reference 28 thereto , 29 AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS; 30 1 . That in reference to the construction of said water 31 main project and appurtenances , that the per diem wages to be 32 paid various craftsmen and labor required in the performance of -BERLAIN AND CHAMBERLAIN ATTORNEYS AT LAW 4 4K OF CALIFORNIA BLDG.
