and Directors, recognize that there is an obligation
on each for the continuous rend it ion and av ail ab i lity
for such services; and,
E- S: The welfare of the Public depends upon the loyal and
off icient work and service of all employed or associated
with the District in any capacity; and, individually
and collectively all are expected to use their in-
fluence and best efforts to protect the properties of
the District and it's service to the Public and to co-
operate in promoting and advancing the welfare of the
District and i n p reserving the continuity of it's services
to the Public at all times;
SOW .THE REFOREN BE IT RESOLVED, that for the purposes of promoting
harmony and efficiency among the employees of the D istrict,
the Board of Directors propose, agree and herein set
forth the following.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
(Effective May 1. 1963)
(a) Employees shall be classified as either regular
or casual (temporary)
{b) k regular employee is one who has completed 6
months of continuous service with the District
(c) k casual (temporary) employee is one hired for
occasional or seasonal work or for a limited time .
(d) New employees hired for a regular classification
shall be pl aced up on a 6 months probationary period,
at the end of which time, if he has demonstrated
his ability and qualifications therefore,, he shall be
given a definite classification as hereinafter set
forth .
WORKING dOURS
(a) The established work *week for all herein classified
employees is from Saturday midnight to Saturday
midnight.
tb) The normal work week shall be 5 days of 8 'hours each
and shall begin Monday and run through Friday*

(c) The hours of work
shall be f rom 8 Am to 12 noon
and from 1 Phi to 5 PM*

OVERT Ili:
(a) An employee
having to work, through a lunch period
shall be paid overtime*
(b) An employee required to perform. work before S AM

or after 5 PM on any regular ul ar work day shall be
paid overtime*
(c) An employee required to perform work on a
recognized iz ed holiday ida or of ter 5 PM Friday and

before 8 AM Monday shall be paid overtime.
(d) Overtime shall be computed to the nearest
quarter hour*
(e) An employee called outside of regular work hours

shall be allowed not less than two hours pay at
the overtime rate.
(f) overtime compens at inn shall mean a rate of pay
equivalent to one and one-half (1 ) times the
standard rate of pay.

are the recognized paid. Holidays by the District.
New Years Day - January 1
Washington' s Birthday - February 22
Memorial Day - May 30
Independence Day � July 4
Labor Day - September (1st Monday)
Veteran' s Day - November 11
Thanksgiving in Day November (4th Thursday)

TRANSPORTATION
(a) At the discretion of the District, transportation
shall be furnished all employees in the performance
of their duties .
(b) Y
An employee asked to use his own personal. means of
transportation for District business sh al.l be re iiu-
bur s ed at the rate of 12�# per mile or 1 .00 per day
as the District may elect*

selections of the employees in the order of their
senior ity cl ass if ication 4o Vacation lists shall be
posted on or before April 15th of each year
SAFETY
(a) The Dis trict shall make reasonable prov is ions for
the safety of employees in the performance of their
wor jqw,,mpl oyees shall jointly cooper ate in pro-
moting the responsibility of the individual employee
wi th regards to the prevention of accidents*
fib} The foreman shall establish a safety inspection
committee to function in the prevention of accidents
by ascertaining unsafe working conditions and at
least every six months recommend any measures to be
taken for correction thereof, in writing to the
superintendent*
(c) The District reserves the right to draft reasonable
safety rules for employees and to insist on the
observance of such rules
UNION ACTIVITY
(a) The Di strict will not discriminate against an
employee because of his membership in a Union and
employees are expected not to discriminate against
any employee because of his none-af filiation with a
Union,.
SICK LEAVE
(a) Employees after one year of continuous service shall
be entitled to a 5 day s ick leave with pay.
(b} Emp loyees after two years of continuous service shall
be entitled to 10 days sick leave with pay*
tc) The District may require satisfactory evidence of an
employee's lness or diability before sick leave will
be g ranted if it is found that the employee is said
taking un ue advantage of sick leave provis ions s
employee shall forfeit all sick leave accumulated
up to that date.
td} Nothing in the foregoing article shall be interpreted
to entitle the employee to sick leave while on
vacation, temporarily laid off by the District, upon
severence of employments or while receiving 'Industrial
compensation*

The District reserves the right to temporarily work any classi-
f ie d electric employee on work in connection with it's water
system, or any classified water employee on temporary work on
. the electric system, without changing the rate of pay or classi--
fication of such employee.
The District is to be the judge as to the competency and fitness
of prospective employees and of the satisfactory performances
of work by any employee.
Any employee is privileged to present in writing any additions
or changes to the above "conditions of employment" for
consideration of the Board of Directors on or before April 1,
19640
