A E MCC011amp Dist Engineer, U 3*Corps River of Engineers, Sacramento, relative to flood control in the Truckee Basinp and the need for amendment to the Public Utility District Act to perri't this District to cooperate and contract with the United 'tates in Flood Control proj ects. Letter referred to Manager. The Manager reported on the urgenc y of new switthing facilities at the Sierra Pacif ic Power Co. substation and letters were read under date of Sept 28th and Oct 4th by and between the District and Mr. R Roy Cowles) relative to Live St ig at ion of new switching facilities. Mr. Cowles letter referred the District's req uest to the Rogers Engineering Co. of San Francisco and after some further explanation by t'Cie Manager the Board authorized the 1olanager to contact the Ro gers .2hgine ering Co. to have an investigation made of the needs of the District) p rovided the same could be done at a cost of not over 1(*6 0 0* Cormmunik.,a-L ions were read under date of Sept 3oth from R A Cayot, Div 14gr of the Pacific Gas & Elec Co. at Auburn' to Paul Ii. Chamberlain and under date of Oct 1, from Paul H. Chwnberlain to the District, relative to the possibility of the District obtainint7 po wer from the Pacific Gas & Elec Co and adv-ising that under the terms and 0 conditions of.their franchise right granted them by the California Public Utilities Corymu* ssion, it would not be possible for them to serve the District. -1. Cinairman Welch explained that such a Petition is required to be checked by the Clerk of the District not by the County Clerk,, and also that action by the Board Might be deferred until a few months before the next -ueneral District L'lection. The I-landger reported that at a previous meeting the matter of continuing the donation to the Truckee Chamber of Commerce had been laid over for further consideration at such tL-.qe as all board members were present and that it would be brotqht up again at a future mocting.
