HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1984-22 - Board Y^ x RESOLUTION NO. 84 22 OF THE TRUCKEE DONNER PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT TO EXECUTE A SUPPLEMENTARY AGREEMENT WITH IBEW, LOCAL 1245 REGARDING ADMINISTRATION OF APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS A WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District to establish apprenticeship programs; and -- WHEREAS, District Counsel has drawn up a supplementary agreement between the District and the IBEW, Local 1245 regarding administration of apprentice- ship programs which is agreeable to the parties; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District as follows: 1. That the supplementary agreement between the District and IBEW, Local 1245 regarding administration. of the k X apprenticeship programs, attached hereto, is hereby accepted and approved by the District. 2. That the President of the Board is authorized to execute the supplementary agreement on behalf of the District. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District. at a regular meeting held within said District on the 16th day of April 1984, by the following roll call vote: A AYES: Corbett, Duffy, Hamilton and Maass. B. Termination of A2prenticeshi2_ Agreement After Probationa Period. i 's After completion of the probationary period, an Apprenticeship Agreement shall not be terminated until after an informal hearing has been conducted by the Apprenticeship Committee . The hearing shall be conducted according to the rules for grievance arbitration set forth in Section 14. 4 of the Memorandum of Understanding. A decision by two (2) of the three (3) Committee members shall be binding on the Committee and the affected employee. A party dissatisfied with the , 'decision of the Committee may file a grievance pursuant to Article 14 of the Memorandum of Understanding. 2* If after completion of the probationary period, an Apprenticeship Agreement is terminated, then the employee' s continued employment by the Company shall be determined in accordance with Sections 16. 31 , 16. 32, and 16 . 33 of the Memorandum of Understanding. C. Nothing herein shall affect the Company' s right to discipline an employee or terminate an employee from employment for any of the reasons enumerated in the Memorandum of Understanding or the District Disciplinary Procedures. In such case, the rules with respect to discipline as set forth in the Memorandum of Understanding and the District Disciplinary Procedure shall govern, Section VIII: Apprentice Progress Evaluation and Reporting A. Record of Training Hours 1.0 There is a form for each apprenticeship which contains an outline of the Type of Work listed under the Job Standards section of the Apprenticeship Agreement. 2. The Training Hour Card will be filled out monthly and carries a cumulative total of �the hours worked in each category during the apprenticeship, 3 .
