OF THE
TRUCKEE DONNER PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
AMENDING BY-LAWS REGARDING RETENTION OF
TAPE RECORDINGS OF MEETINGS
WHEREAS, By-law No. 14 of the By of the Truckee Donner Public
Utility District currently provides that tape recordings of all regular and
special meetings shall be retained for 45 days after final approval of the
minutes; and
WHEREAS, District Counsel has recommended that the tape recordings be
retained for 6 months after f inal approval of the minutes in order to Comply
with current Cal ifornia law regarding time limits within which claims against
public entitie.s must be filed; I
NOW, THEREFOREf BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee
Donner
'Public Utility District as follows:
That By-law No. 14 be amended to read in its entirety as fol lows:
Taping Of Meetings - The Clerk/Ex-officiO Secretary shall arrange
to have tape recordings made of the meetings of the Board, except
when the Board goes into closed session, for use in preparation
of the minutes. The Clerk/Ex-of f iciO Secretary shall retain the
tapes for 6 months after the minutes have been approved in final
form and bound in minute books. During the time the tapes are
stored, the Clerk/Ex-off iciO Secretary shall make the tapes avail-
able to anyone for review upon arrangement. At the conclusion of
the storage period, the tapes will be erased, destroyed or re-
used.
