HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1984-77 - Board 143 RESOLUTION NO. 8477 OF THE TRUCKEE DONNER PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF REPORT GENERATOR WHEREAS, in 1981 the Truckee Donner Public Utility District issued a call for bids for a new computer system; and WHEREAS, the bids received were analyzed by staff and a representative of Arthur Andersen & Company to determine which of the systems bid would best fill the needs of the District in years to come; -and WHEREAS, the bid was awarded to Digital Systems, Inc. , and a contract for ongoing computer programming services was thereafter entered into; and WHEREAS, the programs puchased include Customer Billing, Payroll, Gen- eral Ledger, Accounts Payable and Work Orders; and WHEREAS, all programs have been implemented on the computer system with the exception of the Work Order program, and WHEREAS, staff has determined the need to implement an Ultra Report Generator program in order to streamline many of the District's reporting requirements and to cut down future programming costs; and WHEREAS, the Ultra Report Generator is available only through Digital Systems, Inc. and no other company can supply a comparable product that is compatible with the existing District system and the Ultra Report Generator will be maintained and updated by them for a monthly license fee; and WHEREAS, competitive bidding would be pointless with respect to the report generator and would cause needless expense and delay without achieving any cost savings whatsoever; and WHEREAS, the purchase and maintenance costs for the Ultra Report Gener- ator have been included in the 1985 budget; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee 0 Donner Public Utility District as follows, 1. That staff is hereby authorized to purchase the Ultra Report Generator from Digital Systems, Inc. without resort to com- petitive bidding at a cost of $4,985 and to pay subsequent monthly license fees. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District at a meeting duly called and held within said District on the 17th day of December 1984, by the following roll call vote, AYES: Corbett, Maass and Duffy.
