WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District has
determined the need to purchase various vehicles; and
WHEREAS, funds have been set aside in the 1992 budget for these purchases;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE T RESOL VED that the Board ofDirectors of the Truckee Donner
Public Utility District does hereby authorize the President to issue a call for bids based on
the specifications attached hereto, and that the date and time established for the bid
opening is Monday, March 30, 1992 at 2:00 PM.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility
District at a regular meeting thereof duly called and held in the District on the 2nd day of
March 1992 by the following roll call vote:

AGREEMENT
This agreement is entered into as of the day of 1992, by and
between the Truckee Donner Public Utility District, a local public agency of the State of
California (the "District" and/or "Owner") and
("Vendor). The parties hereto agree as
follows:
1. DESCRIPTION
Vendor agrees, for the consideration and under the terms and conditions hereinafter set
forth, to fumish the vehicle or vehicles described in the specifications and on the proposal
form, which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
2. CONTRACT PRICE
The District shall pay the vendor for the vehicle or vehicles, delivered free of all liens and
encumbrances to the Truckee Donner Public Utility District, Truckee, California, the price
set forth in vendor's proposal as follows:
(a) A single payment will be made upon the vendor's satisfactory
fulfillment of this agreement. After delivery, payment will be
made when the vehicle(s) is inspected and accepted by the
District and found to be free from all possible liens related to
the vendor's performance. Payment will be made within five
days of the first regularly scheduled Board meeting following
delivery, inspection and acceptance of the vehicle and receipt
of certification from the vendor that the truck is free of all liens
and/or encumbrances.
3. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
The vendor shall prepare the equipment and accessories for shipment in such a manner
as to protect them from damage in transit and shall be responsible for and make good any
and all damage incurred while loading, unloading or in transit.
If an excessive impact is indicated or the truck is otherwise damaged in shipment, it will be
refused on delivery, and it will be the bidder's responsibility to arrange for prompt
inspection, repair or replacement to new equipment standards. The Bidder will not be
relieved of the responsibility of delivering undamaged equipment even if the damage is
internal or otherwise undetected, and the nature of the damage remains unknown until the

.... 8. ASSIGNMENT
Neither party may assign this agreement, or payments due under the agreement without
the written consent of the other party.
9. GOVERNING LAW
This agreement shall be construed in accordance with, and govemed by, the laws of the
State of California.
10. FORUM
Any litigation to enforce or interpret the provisions of this agreement or the parties' rights
and liabilities arising out of this agreement or the performance hereunder shall be
maintained only in the courts in the County of Nevada, State of California.
11. SOLE AND ONLY AGREEMENT
This agreement, including any exhibits attached hereto, constitutes the sole and only
agreement of the parties hereto relating to the project and correctly sets forth the rights,
duties and obligations of each to the other as of its date. Any prior agreements, promises,
negotiations, or representations not expressly set forth in this agreement are of no force
and effect.
12. DISTRICT POWERS
Nothing herein contained shall be deemed to limit, restrict or modify any right, duty or
obligation given, granted, or imposed upon the District by the laws of the State of California
now in effect, or hereafter adopted, nor to limit or restrict the power or authority of the
District.
13. TIME OF ESSENCE
Time is of the essence of this agreement.
14. SEVERABILITY
In the event that any part or provision of this agreement is found to be illegal or
unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such findings shall not affect the

notified immediately. If the missing part, item or accessory cannot be provided and installed
within 72 hours, TDPUD reserves the right to buy the item or part from another source and
bill the successful bidder for the cost, including installation.
WARRANTY
The truck shall be covered by the manufacturer's standard warranty; a minimum of 12
months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Copy of warranty must be furnished with
bid.
If all or any part of this equipment should prove defective in workmanship or materials, the
bidder shall replace or repair the part or defect without cost to the TDPUD.
The bidder is the prime contractor and is responsible to provide a complete and totally
integrated finished product that satisfies these specifications in every respect.
SPECIAL NOTE
NO TRUCKS WILL BE ACCEPTED WITH A NOISE DECIBEL READING (includes all
standard and add-on accessories)higher than 87 DBA with the exception of back-up alarm.

PRE-DELIVERY SERVICE:
The following pre-delivery service will be performed prior to acceptance of the unit:
A. Engine will be filled to proper oil level
B. Transmission will be checked and filled to proper oil level.
C. Hydraulic system oil reservoir will be checked and filled to proper
oil level.
D. Cooling system will be checked and filled to proper level and will
contain anti-freeze to -40 degrees Fahrenheit.
E. All tires will be balanced.
F. Front end will be properly aligned.
G. Headlights will be properly adjusted.
H. All other necessary fluids will be checked and filled to proper
levels.
DELIVERY
Time required for delivery may be a determining factor in award of this bid.
Truck will be delivered to the TDPUD, 11570 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, California.
SUBSTITUTIONS
All parts of the truck must comply with the specifications for that part. Where the
specifications allow for "approved equals," the bidder may include in the bid parts from
another manufacturer that equal or exceed the specific part mentioned in these
specifications. However, the bidder must provide a list with his bid that itemizes all those
parts he is including as an "equal." In addition, the bidder must submit three copies of
manufacturer's information detailing each part or item that is included as an "equal." The
information must describe the part in sufficient detail to demonstrate that the part does

indeed equal or exceed in every respect the part or item specified. The District will be the
sole judge of the suitability of the parts or items offered as"equals." Bids containing parts
or items that are inferior to those specified will not be accepted.

GENERAL
Flat bed type 12 ga steel diamond plate overlaid on wood.
Dimensions to be 10' long, 88" wide, and will
include a full width, full clearance (knee braced)
52" front bulkhead. This bulkhead to be of a
design to allow rear visibility to the vehicle
operator. Four "D" rings to be welded to the front
bulkhead equally spaced at an approximate height
of 27".
Fuel filler The fuel filler is to be recessed and reinforced into
the flatbed frame and will allow for easy filling with
fuel at commercial pumps. No exceptions.
Mud flaps Mud flaps are to be of anti-sail design mounted
behind rear wheels (full length) and in front of rear
wheels (half length). Mud flaps will allow for tire
chain clearance.
Paint To be color matched to vehicle cab over rust
resistant primer.
Lights All lights are to be easily visible by following cars.
Must meet all state and federal standards. Refer

Trailer connection A seven way"Berg" type covered plug is to be
mounted conveniently near hitch. All connections
are to be weather sealed.

Bumper to be constructed from 3"x 114" channel iron with treadplate top. Bumper is to be
securely fastened to frame and to flatbed as required. Bumper height should allow for easy
entry onto flatbed platform. Must meet District approval. Sketch is for bidding purposes
only.

SPECIFICATIONS
33,000 LB GVW SEVEN YARD DUMP TRUCK
Please indicate an appropriate response in every space; a "YES," indicating complete
compliance with the specification, or a description of any and all deviations.
SCOPE
This specification covers the procurement of the installation, testing and certification of a
seven yard dump body with eight yard ends, and other mounted equipment on a truck cab
and chassis furnished by the successful bidder.
A. GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
1. Completed trucks to these specifications, unless
specifically stated otherwise herein, shall conform
to the Transportation General Vehicle and
Equipment Specification.
2. The completed unit must be certified by the
subsequent stage manufacturer to meet all
applicable State of California and Federal
requirements.
B. CHASSIS SPECIFICATIONS
1. Truck bid is to be a domestic, factory built, current
two wheel drive, conventional cab model.
2. Truck bid must bear manufacturer's factory
stamped 33,000 GVWR or higher rating plate, and
truck shall conform to this rating in all component
parts.

8. Axles:
8.1 Front axle to be a Spicer 1-120S rated at
12,000 pounds or approved equal, and will include
oil bath hubs.
8.2 Rear - minimum capacity of 21,000 pounds,
single speed, single reduction. Rear axle ratio shall
be compatible to maintain a highway speed of
approximately 55 MPH at 1,800 engine RPM's in
highest transmission gear.
9. Drive shafts: All drive shafts are to be balanced
and are not to exceed an eight (8) degree
compound angle.
10. Back-up alarm: Shall be equipped with an
electronic type back-up alarm rated between 97
and 107 DBA.
11. Batteries: Two heavy duty 12 V with a minimum of
1,900 CCA rating at zero degrees. Must be
MAINTENANCE FREE.
13. Parking brakes:
13.1 Shall be spring actuated with manual release.
13.2 Spring parking brake chambers shall be
provided on rear axle.
13.3 Shall comply with Federal Law.
14. Front bumper: To be heavy duty 1/4" steel, full
width 30 degree sweptback and will include red or
orange plastic bumper guides.
15. Cab to axle dimension: 841

16. Color: National School Bus Chrome (School Bus
Yellow).
17. Cooling system:
17.1 Shall be equipped with a heavy duty radiator
with increased coolant capacity.
17.2 Fan shall be fully shrouded.
17.3 Cooling system shall be capable of
maintaining a safe driving temperature in extreme
hot or cold weather.
17.4 Anti freeze shall have a rating of-40 degrees
Fahrenheit.
19. Engine:
19.1 Truck shall be equipped with a 6 cylinder in-
line, turbo-charged, after cooled, "wet sleeved,"
diesel engine with a minimum gross horsepower
rating of 230 at 2,400 RPM and a minimum torque
of 650 (lb-ft) at 1,600 RPM.
19.2 Engine will be equipped with a Kysor engine
shut-down system, 120V block heater and a locking
type hand control throttle.
19.3 Engine to be equipped for front mount PTO
effects. Cab will have stationary grill.
19.4 Engine must meet and maintain California
emissions certification requirements.
19.5 Engine must be OEM certified. Dealer
certification will not be acceptable.
19.6 Engine will be furnished with a minimum two-
year unlimited mileage warranty.
20. Frame: Shall be equipped with heat treated, high
strength, low alloy 110,000 PSI frame rails. Frame
must include an inverted V frame reinforcement.
Must have 10" front frame extensions.
21. Fuel tank:
21.1 Shall be equipped with a minimum of 50
gallons of fuel capacity mounted under curb side
door and to include a step.
21.2 Fuel/water separator is required.
21.3 Tank shall be conspicuously labeled "diesel
fuel only."
27. Lights: Shall be equipped with the following lights -
27.1 Headlights shall be halogen type with
high/low beam.
27.2 Front turn signal and parking lights shall be
Class A double faced, front amber, rear red, and
shall be equipped with four-way hazard, warning
switch.
27.3 Low level, front mount, amber fog lights.
27.4 Rear combination stop/tail and turn signal
lights shall be equipped with Class A single faced
red rear combination stop/tail and turn signal lights
recessed into the body at a height to be easily
visible from following vehicles. (See body specs)
27.5 Strobe power supply will be mounted inside
the cab of the truck. Cab strobe and rear strobes
will operate independently. Strobe light systems
will be equipped with suppressors or resistors to
eliminate radio interference. Rear strobes to be
180 degree type mounted vertically. Strobe
system to be Whalen DOT 3 Model 102A or
approved equal. (See body specs)
27.6 Shall be equipped with clearance lights and
rear license plate light. (See body specs)
27.7 Shall be equipped with two back-up lights.
(See body specs)
27.8 Shall be equipped with mechanically secured
reflectors as required. (See body specs)
27.9 Shall be equipped with dome and fully
illuminated instrument panel.
27.10 All wiring connections for lighting systems to
be weather-sealed.
35. Wheels: Shall be equipped with six (6), 10-hole
disc wheels, minimum rim size is to be 8". Wheels
are to be Budd type, non-metric.
36. Wheel base: 152" wheelbase.
37. Windshield wipers: Shall be equipped with three
speed (including intermittent mode) electric wipers
with heavy duty arms, blades and linkage.
38. Miscellaneous equipment: Shall be equipped with
the following:
38.1 Two armrests.
38.2 Two sun visors.
38.3 One cigarette lighter and ash tray.
38.4 Chrome or stainless steel grab handles, one
on each side of cab to provide assistance in
entering vehicle.
38.5 Ether cold starting equipment with electrical
in-cab controls.
38.6 Two line sheets will be furnished with truck
on delivery; delivery will not be accepted without
line setting tickets.
38.7 Two copies of operators manuals for truck
and dump;one copy service manual; parts manual;
complete driver and operator training (basic
orientation for operation and use) at District
complex.

SAFETY STRUTS: Body shall be equipped with two (2) OSHA
approved safety struts. Safety struts will be self-centering and
shall be capable of holding the dump body in a 30 degree raised
position. Safety struts shall be secured by a chain when in the
raised/stored position.
TAIL GATE: Tail gate shall be constructed of ten gauge high
tensile steel with full boxed brace frame around perimeter of gate
and having a horizontal center brace and H & H bracing. Gate
shall be double acting with upper and lower chains and shall be
air operated and equipped with a batch gate (long handle). Tail
gate will be equipped with spreader chains. Tail gate shall also
be watertight. A bracket for a batch gate cheater bar is to be
provided.
HOIST: Shall be single telescopic cylinder Class 70. Minimum
inside diameter of hoist ram will be 6". Hoist to have a heavy-
duty rear hinge 38" wide and 23" deep constructed of 3/8" steel.
Hinge to be brake formed with return flanges. The rear hinge pin
to be 2 1/2" diameter wide cast hinge bearings. Wide cast hinge
bearings shall be equipped with grease fittings for lubrication. A
cable shut-off control will be provided to prevent damaging of
telescopic cylinder when bed is raised. Commercial Shearing
No. 53120 or equal. 5/8" SAE minimum grade "8" bolts with self-
locking nuts will be used to mount hoist to frame.
DUMP BODY MOUNTING: Dump body hinge pin to be
approximately 4" from end of frame.
A hard rubber cushion stringer shall run the full length of the
dump body between dump body and truck frame to act as a wear
strip. No welds on the frame will be allowed.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS
PUMP: Truck bid shall be equipped with a front mounted pump.
Pump shall be capable of delivering approximately 20 gallons per
minute at 2100 RPM. This pump will provide power for the
operation of the dump body. Pump shall be a Commercial
Shearing No. P330A-597jfab12-43, or equal. Pump shall be
mounted to the rear of the front bumper and coupled to the PTO
effects on the front of the engine and will be mounted in line within
2-3 degrees of engine angle. A 314" X .065 steel tube drive line
will drive hydraulic pump and will include a teflon coated slip yoke.
NOTE: Pump drive shaft will be balanced
Manufacturer will be required to furnish 12 inches of clearance
from the rear of the front bumper to the front of the radiator.
SINGLE-SPOOL VALVE: Truck will be equipped with a single
„ ., spool cable controlled hydraulic valve - Commercial Shearing No.
A20 with power beyond or equal. This valve will control operation
of dump body and shall be mounted behind the cab underneath
dump body for protection from salt and load spill over.
A single lighted control console (Felsted No. 59009 or equal) will
be provided and mounted forward between the seats inside the
cab within easy reach of the operator. Control console will include
one jacketed and sealed control cable to operate dump valve.
Console will also include safety lights for tail gate unlocked, bed
up, and back-up alarm on.

SPECIAL PROVISIONS
PRE-DELIVERY SERVICE:
The following pre-delivery service will be performed prior to acceptance of the unit:
A. Engine will be filled to proper oil level
B. Transmission will be checked and filled to proper oil level.
C. Hydraulic system oil reservoir will be checked and filled to proper
oil level.
D. Cooling system will be checked and filled to proper level and will
contain anti-freeze to -40 degrees Fahrenheit.
E. All tires will be balanced.
F. Front end will be properly aligned.
G. Headlights will be properly adjusted.
H. All other necessary fluids will be checked and filled to proper
levels.
DELIVERY
Time required for delivery may be a determining factor in award of this bid.
Truck will be delivered to the TDPUD, 11570 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, California.
SUBSTITUTIONS
All parts of the truck must comply with the specifications for that part. Where the
specifications allow for "approved equals," the bidder may include in the bid parts from
another manufacturer that equal or exceed the specific part mentioned in these
specifications. However, the bidder must provide a list with his bid that itemizes all those
�'1 parts he is including as an "equal." In addition, the bidder must submit three copies of
manufacturer's information detailing each part or item that is included as an "equal." The

or lease and incidental expenses. In the event that District brings an action to enforce the
terms of this paragraph, it shall be entitled to an award of its attorneys' fees and costs.

manufacturer's equipment, and/or as specified by the TDPUD the successful bidder will be
notified immediately. If the missing part,item or accessory cannot be provided and installed
within 72 hours, TDPUD reserves the right to buy the item or part from another source and
bill the successful bidder for the cost, including installation.
WARRANTY
The truck shall be covered by the manufacturer's standard warranty; a minimum of 12
months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Copy of warranty must be furnished with
bid.
If all or any part of this equipment should prove defective in workmanship or materials, the
bidder shall replace or repair-the part or defect without cost to the TDPUD.
The bidder is the prime contractor and is responsible to provide a complete and totally
integrated finished product that satisfies these specifications in every respect.

DAMAGES FOR FAILURE TO TIMELY DELIVER VEHICLE
In addition to and separate from any other remedy for a breach provided for in this
agreement, District shall, in the event that contractor fails to deliver the subject vehicle to
District by the date specified on the proposal form, be entitled to rent or lease a vehicle of
like kind and quality for as many days as contractor is late in delivering the subject vehicle

HYDRAULIC OIL TANK: Truck shall be equipped with a minimum
40 gallon hydraulic oil tank with drain valve. Tanks will be
mounted on the right hand side and shall be securely fastened to
the frame. Top of the hydraulic tank shall be 4" higher than top of
the truck frame. Tank will be equipped with a metal mesh filter
inside of the tank. Return line filter will be a Greesen No. SR-251-
121 C or approved equal. Return line filter shall be firmly mounted
inside of the truck frame for protection. Tank will be provided with
a visual sight glass LENZ No. 550 - 5" or equal.
Filler neck for hydraulic tank will be mounted and installed to allow
filling without raising dump body. Inspection cover with breather
vented cap will be provided on top of the forward portion of tank
and mounted directly over suction screen. Tank will be equipped
with baffle plate in middle of tank. Inlet and outlet hoses will be on
bottom portion of tank. Tanks will be built with magnetic drain
plug located in the center of tank. Tank shall be conspicuously
labeled "Hydraulic Oil Only."
TARP: A heavy duty premium quality PVC coated mesh tarp
sized and fitted to secure over load is to be included.
VIBRATOR: A 12 volt electric vibrator rated at 2,500 pounds
centrifugal force at 5,000 RPMs (Rino model #DC2500 or equal is
to be mounted under dump bed. A covered momentary switch is
to be mounted on pump hoist control.)

PINTLE HOOK: Shall be equipped with an air cushioned
Premier No. 370 or equal with at least a 70,000 pound tensile
strength. Shall be mounted below rear frame cross member, 27"
from ground level to bottom of eye and shall be mounted on 1/2"
buck plate with V-braces bolted (grade "8" bolts) to the truck
frame or welded to the rear corss member. No welds on the
frame will be allowed.
Two (2) 6" wide "U" bolts or "D" rings will be mounted at the
lowest corners. Gladhands to be mounted to the left of pintle
hook.
MUD FLAPS: Shall be equipped with mud flaps in front of and
behind the rear wheels. Mud flaps will be unmarked. Rear mud
flaps are to be of anti-sail design. Mud flaps will allow for tire
chain clearance.
TOOL BOX: Will be equipped with an 18" deep x 18" wide x 40"
long tool box mounted to left side of truck frame and will include
a compartment for tarp storage.

REMOVABLE DUMP BODY SPECIFICATIONS
BODY DIMENSIONS: Body shall have 7 yard sides and 8 yard
ends. Inside body dimensions shall be 12' long x 7' wide, side
height 26", 32" tailgate.
BODY CONSTRUCTION: Floor shall be constructed on 1/4" T-
one steel or equal and shall have minimum yield strength of
100,000 PSI. Sides shall be constructed of cor-ten steel with a
minimum of 50,000 PSI yield strength steel with full boxed top
rail and sloping boxed bottom side rail. Sides shall have boxed
horizontal center side brace running full length of the body - front
to rear. Rear corner posts to be full height, 6" minimum width,
12" minimum depth. Rear bar shall be full width under body Z-
bar, 6" minimum height. No dog house is to be constructed
inside dump bed.
Sides and floor shall be gussetted with side to floor diagonals full
length of body
y providing greater strength and a smooth free
flowing surface. Body shall be equipped with a one-half cab
guard protector and flush mounted strobe, combination turn,
stop, tail lights and back-up lights recessed into the rear corner
posts at a height of approximately 65". Strobe lights will be
equipped with amber lens. Body will be of longitudinal design
eliminating cross bars and providing greater torsion resistance to
twisting. Two (2) S8x23 -8" I-beam steel stringers shall run full
length of body (no sub-frame) or approved structural equivalent.
A grab handle is to be mounted on the outside of cab guard
(both sides of truck).
Body will have three (3) D-rings mounted on each side near body
floor - one front, one center and one rear.
Outside of body will have provisions for the mounting of one
shovel on each side. It will also have provisions for securing a
cover tarp. (3/4" rebar running full length along both sides and
across tailgate. Rebar is intended to also be used as a step.)
Body shall be rust proof primed and painted to match cab.

28. Mirrors:
28.1 Shall be equipped with two (2) heated,
outside rear view mirrors. Mirrors will be mounted
so that they provide clear vision beyond the sides
of the body. Approximate size is 7" x 16". West
coast type or approved equal.
28.2 Two (2) 6" spot mirrors will also be required.
29. Power steering: Integral type.
30. Seats: Driver's seat shall be Bostrum Air
Suspension Seat No. 914 or equal with standard
stationary passenger seat. Shall be equipped with
seat belts for driver's and passenger's seats.
Interior color to be tan or brown.
31. Suspension:
31.1 Front - Front springs to be heavy duty leaf
type; total spring capacity must not be less than
axle capacity. Shall be equipped with front shock
absorbers. Aluminum spring hangers will NOT be
allowed.
31.2 Rear -Rear springs shall be heavy duty leaf
type with a minimum of 23,500 Ibs rating. Rear
shock absorbers to be included.
32. Tires:
32.1 Front - Shall be equipped with two (2)
Goodyear or approved equal Unisteel TD 11 R22.5
mud and snow tread, tubeless, steel belted radial
tires, load range H (16 ply) rating.
32.2 Rear - Shall be equipped with four (4)
Goodyear or approved equal Unisteel TD 11 R22.5
mud and snow tread, tubeless, steel belted radial
tires, load range H (16 ply) rating.
33. Tow hooks: Shall be equipped with two front
mounted tow hooks.
34. Transmission: To be a Fuller RT-6610 ten speed
transmission or approved equal.
22. Heater and defroster:
22.1 Heavy duty fresh air type.
22.2 Cab shall also be equipped with a defroster
fan securely mounted to defrost driver's side of
windshield.
23. Hood: Hood shall be fiberglass tilting type.
Fenders must tilt with hood. Grill to be stationary.
24. Glass: All cab glass shall be tinted.
25. Gauges: All gauges shall be registering type
consisting of the following: speedometer,
tachometer, engine hour-meter, voltmeter, engine
oil pressure, water temperature, fuel gauge, air
pressure gauge with warning buzzer, air cleaner or
dash mounted service indicator, transmission oil
temperature and all other manufacturer's standard
gauges. Also a Rieker inclineometer#1017SPL,to
be mounted on dash to detect side hill angles.
26. Horns: Shall be equipped with dual chrome air
horns including chrome snow shield covers.
Electrical horn shall also be provided.
18. Electric system:
18.1 12V with a minimum 115 amp alternator;
Delco 21-S or equal.
18.2 A seven (7) wire ATA trailer lighting cable
with connector for trailer shall be installed near
pintle hitch location. Must be easily accessible.

18.3 Connector or socket shall be covered with a
rubber boot for protection from the elements. (See
body specs.)
18.4 All electrical and wiring connections to be
weather-sealed or weather-proofed. (See body
specs.)
18.5 Socket shall be seven-way Berg type. (See
body specs.)
18.6 Factory installed AM-FM radio with digital
clock.
12. Brakes:
12.1 Shall be equipped with a full air brake
system, NON-ASBESTOS lining.
12.2 Minimum front 16.5"x 5", minimum rear 16.5"
x 7".
12.3 Service brakes shall be S-cam type on all
wheels, full air with warning buzzer; air gauge shall
be dash mounted; compressor shall be piston type,
water cooled, and have not less than 12.5 cubic
feet per minute capacity; to be engine crankcase
lubricated, rear brake chambers to be type 30.
12.4 Shall be equipped with auto-adjusting slack
adjusters front and rear.
12.5 Trucks shall be equipped with a Bendix
Westinghouse AD-9 or equal air dryer, installed in
accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
12.6 Air service shall be installed and included on
the rear of the truck frame for towing trailers

12.7 The hand control valve and breakaway valve
shall be installed by the truck manufacturer. (See

12.8 Shall also be equipped with an air operated
signal control valve for use on trailers with electric
brakes. Hand control valve will also operate signal
control valve.
12.9 Brake system shall comply with all federal
and state laws.
12.10 Any exceptions to brake sizes or
components will not be accepted.
3. Vehicle furnished under this specification shall be
the manufacturer's current conventional design for
the type of vehicle specified and the allied
equipment specified, complete with all necessary
operation accessories customarily furnished with
these vehicle types whether stipulated herein or
not, with such modifications and attachments as
may be necessary to enable the vehicle to function
reliably and efficiently in sustained operation.
Further, vehicle furnished under this specification
shall comply with the most current Federal Motor
Vehicle Safety Standards, Federal Department of
Health, Education and Welfare, and Pollution
Control from the California Motor Vehicle
Standards.
4. All California Department of Motor Vehicle paper
work and weight slips must be provided. Weight
slips must be California certified.
5. A computer analysis print-out must be furnished
with the bid showing vehicle speeds in all
transmission gears.
6. After frame dimension: Shall be a minimum of 63".
7. Air Cleaner: Shall be manufacturer's heavy duty
dry type DUAL ELEMENT air cleaner. Cleaner
must be approved by engine manufacturer. Must
have air cleaner or dash mounted service indicator.

WARRANTY
The truck shall be covered by the manufacturer's standard warranty; a minimum of 12
months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Copy of warranty must be furnished with

If all or any part of this equipment should prove defective in workmanship or materials, the
bidder shall replace or repair the part or defect without cost to the TDPUD.
The bidder is the prime contractor and is responsible to provide a complete and totally
integrated finished product that satisfies these specifications in every respect.

4. NOTICES
Any and all notices or other matters required or permitted by this agreement or by law to
be served on, given to, or delivered to either party hereto by the other party to this
agreement shall be in writing and shall be deemed duly served, given, or delivered when
personally delivered to the party to whom it is addressed or in lieu of such personal service,
5 days after deposited in the United States mail, first-class postage paid, addressed to the
District at Post Office Box 309, Truckee, California 96160, or to vendor at
Either party, the District or vendor, may change its address for the purpose of this section
by giving written notice of such change to the other party in the manner provided in this
section.
5. ATTORNEYS'. EXPERTS' AND CONSULTANTS' FEES
In the event of any litigation concerning any controversy, claim or dispute between the
parties hereto, arising out of or relating to this agreement or the breach hereof, or the
interpretation hereof, the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover from the losing party
reasonable expenses, attorneys' fees, experts' fees, and consultants' fees, and costs
incurred therein or in the enforcement or collection of any judgment or award rendered
therein.
6. CAPTIONS
The captions and headings of the different sections of this agreement are inserted for
convenience of reference only, and are not to be taken as part of this agreement or to
control or affect the meaning, construction, or effect of the same.
7. NECESSARY ACTS
Each party to this agreement agrees to perform any further acts and execute and deliver
any further documents that may be reasonably necessary to carry out the provisions of this
agreement.
