DECLARING CERTAIN VEHICLES SURPLUS
AND ISSUING A CALL FOR BIDS
WHEREAS, staff has determined that certain vehicles are no longer required for any
purpose by the District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE I T RESOL VED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner
Public Utility District as follows:
1. That the vehicles described in the attachment hereto is surplus, and the
General Manager of the District is hereby authorized to advertize and sell the
items in "as is" condition in accordance with policy established by Resolution
No. 8212.
2. Sealed bids will be accepted up to the hour of 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August
28, 1992, at which time they will be publicly opened. Bids must be made in
accordance with the Notice of Sale and Invitation to Bid.
3. The selected bidder will be required to pay for and remove the equipment
within 15 days of being noticed of the award.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors at a meeting duly called and held
within the District on the 17th day of August 1992, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Aguera, Corbett, Curran and Maass.
NOES: Sutton.
ABSENT. None.

INVITATION TO BID
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to prospective bidders that sealed bids will be received
by the Truckee Donner Public Utility District until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 28,
1992 for the following surplus vehicles:
1975 CHEVY DUMP TRUCK, UNIT 2
1981 4WD CHEVY FLATBED PICKUP, UNIT 5
1983 4WD FORD RANGER 1/2 PICKUP, UNIT 8
1978 4WD CHEVY 3/4 TON FLATBED, UNIT 19
1985 4WD FORD RANGER 1/2 TON PICKUP, UNIT 28
1985 4WD FORD RANGER 1/2 TON PICKUP, UNIT 29
The vehicles will be sold "as is." There is no minimum bid. Bids on one or all of
the vehicles will be accepted. Your bid should be placed in a sealed envelope
,,. marked SURPLUS VEHICLES,. and mailed or delivered to the TDPUD prior to 2:00
P.M. on August 28, 1992; the UNIT NUMBER is to be included on the envelope. The
selected bidder will be required to pay for and remove the equipment within 15
days of being noticed of the award.
The Truckee Donner Public Utility District specifically reserves the right to reject
any and all bids, waive irregularities or informalities in any or all bids and to accept
any bid that it determines to be in its best interest.

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
The undersigned, a purchaser of surplus property from the Truckee Donner Public
Utility District, acknowledges that this agreement was signed prior to his/her
purchase of such property, and agrees to purchase such property subject to the
following terms and conditions.
1. The undersigned acknowledges and agrees that the property is being
sold as surplus because it is old, used, defective, obsolete, and/or in
need of repair, and the undersigned accepts the property "as is,"
having satisfied himself/herself through prior inspection that the
property is worth the amount bid by the undersigned.
2. The undersigned acknowledges and agrees that the District does not
make any warranties as to the property's quality, condition, or fitness
for any particular purpose.
3. The undersigned acknowledges and agrees that the property,
particularly if it is a vehicle, may need professional inspection and
repair before it can be operated without risk of injury to the
undersigned or to others.
4. The undersigned agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the
District, its directors, officers, employees and agenda, from and
against any and all claims and/or actions arising from the
undersigned's use,ownership or storage of the property,and from and
against all costs, attorneys' fees, expenses and liabilities incurred in
the defense of any such claim and/or action.
5. In the event of any breach of this agreement by the undersigned, the
undersigned agrees to pay to the District all costs and expenses,
including reasonable attorneys' fees incurred by the District, in
enforcing any of the provisions of this agreement, whether or not suit
is instituted.

DIRECTIONS: For each item you are bidding on: 1) fill out a BID FORM; 2) attach a cashier's
check or money order made out to TDPUD in the amount of 10% of your bid; 3) place each bid
in a separate sealed envelope marked clearly "SURPLUS VEHICLE"; include the UNIT NUMBER
on the envelope. Deliver to the Truckee Donner Public Utility District, 11570 Donner Pass Road,
Truckee; or mail to P. O. Box 309, Truckee, CA 96160.

acceptance of the offer. Further, it is understood that the vehicle is being sold "as is" and it is
